I knew that was going to happen as soon as Golson won the starting job last year. Interesting move because he could have been the #2 by the end of Spring. But hopefully it works out for him.

OT Tate Nichols will go on medical hardship and his career is over. Was leading for the right tackle spot going into camp last year before i think a knee injury.

And lotz was just ripping me a few weeks ago for saying he seemed like a kid who didnt want to compete. His 3rd change of schools..

He'll have to compete wherever he goes unless he ends up at Indiana, because B1G. If he wants to play, the best he was going to do was 3rd string this year. Golson still has 3 years left and the staff is pretty high on Zaire. Definitely would have liked to see him stay because he was an injury away from being a major piece. It won't hurt depth this year, but if ND strikes out in QB recruiting this year, 2014 will be razor thin.

He's got no balls and no competitive spirit. Stick to a program and tough it out. Maybe if he could actually beat out the competition he wouldn't need to be switching schools.

The plan was for his girlfriend (who he has been dating since 7th or 8th grade) and baby to move to South Bend, but Davonte himself decided they needed to be closer to her family for the help they would need raising her. Can't fault him for that.
