If we get McDaniels you can sure as shit believe Tebow is not far behind.

Jimmy is more concerned with selling jerseys and marketing opportunities than he is winning football games.

Everything they are doing so far demonstrates that building a first class organization is last on the priority list.

Wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Mallett's name came up if the Browns hire McDaniels.

sportchampps;1558885 wrote:S&L how do you expect the Browns to get better if every two years they change systems. Even professionals in the NFL need time to make the most out of a coaches system. I don't know how you can defend a decision when you have seen this same decision not work out. Give a coach a chance. The GM and Prez hired the guy if after one year you think you made the wrong choice then maybe they need to be looking at themselves for making the choice to hire him. Even Belicheck only went 5-11 his first season in New England before turning them around and becoming the genius everyone thinks he is today. If New England made the same choice who knows what would have happened to the patriots and if anyone would even know who Tom Brady was.
Browns lost 10 out of there last 11...including 2 blowouts to a very mediocre Pittsburgh team. When you do that...you get fired. KC had a "new system" with a mediocre q'back and they're in the playoffs. Ditto with the Eagles if they hold on. Both of those teams were garbage last year.

Most fans on blog sites are against this firing. Not me. To the next guy...win or your out too. Cleveland fans have had enough of this shit.

As for having to "change schemes, blah, blah, blah..." it's foootball...x's and o's. Everyone of these players know how to play the game. Sure the nomenclature will change...so what?

Kudos to Banner and the rest of them. They will not stand for crap football in this town any longer. It's about time someone in this town shows a backbone.

Wouldn't winning sell and give a lot more business opportunities than attaining Tebow? I can't imagine a fan base being less excited than the Browns. Selling 62 Tebow jerseys wouldn't be a big money maker IMO.

It would have the ESPN trucks swarming and national interest for the first time in decades.

Organizations that want to win don't hire Mike Lombardi.

Everything has to be a gimmick since they won't put the pieces in place to really win.

Lol. Alex Smith is no Peyton Manning, but the dude has 53 TDs to 17 INTs over the last 3 years, and a ridiculously easy schedule. Switch Jason Campbell/Brandon Weeden for Alex Smith and those two teams records would be vastly different.

I am not trolling at all.

We just hire one piece of shit after another and I can't be supportive of something I know is bound to fail.

Bring a winner into this organization and I will be the biggest fan boy you've ever seen.

Serve me up pieces of human excrement like Joe Banner, Lombardi, Pat Shurmur and this is what you get.

This. Alex Smith is an above average QB. He proved it in San Fran and now in KC.

well fuck..i thought it was near impossible for any regime to be more incompetent than the last one, but within one fucking year these guys have already proven me wrong. I just cannot see any rational reasoning for the firing. I could have understood firing that fuck Shurmur after a season but not Chud.

Guarantee Chud goes elsewhere and has success. Pray they don't hire that fuck McDaniels.

Bad firing by Cleveland, very bad. I think this guy actually is a pretty solid coach, when the Lions played them earlier this season I didn't think Cleveland was all that bad at all fundamentally or strategically, just Weeden sucked something real bad. You know this one coach went 1-13, 5-9, 6-8 before winning the division the following season and the first of four Super Bowls just two years later. Not saying Chud is Chuck Noll, but wow today that man would have been given no chance

How does Cleveland expect to be relevant, they're a complete joke honestly. Harbaugh is pretty damn good, Tomlin the same, and Lewis should be in the HOF after making the playoffs for 3 consecutive years in Cincy. Bottomline is how do the Browns expect to compete with 3 stable franchises that are much farther ahead of them?

I still can't believe this shit. Who the hell is gonna want to come play for the Browns now? This kinda shit doesn't attract top free agents. I watched every single game through streaming sunday ticket and while the record sucks still we actually looked better this year than well I don't know when. I love the Browns but this is getting pathetic. Pathetic organization.

The Browns quit playing for Chud. When a team just quits playing for a coach, a change is needed.

Jim Donavan tonight on the news...."the players said they liked playing for Chud. Oh yeah? So you liked him so much that you went 4 and 12?" Priceless...and spot on. I would rather have 45 guys that hate their coach and win playoff games. Can't believe all the Chud apologists on this thread. This team had plenty of talent including 5 pro bowlers. Their quarterback won more than half his games over recent years...until this season. Why?

Brownie fans should be praising this regime. for not putting up with this garbage. Either win or GTFO. Enough is enough.

The amount of doom and gloom in this thread is priceless. Just like the t rich trade, how about waiting to see what happens before blowing a fuse? I guess we will never know what Chud could've done, but nobody would have QQd if shurmur or womangini was fired after their first season. This team gave up on Chud when things got bad. That's not a good sign. None us would be happy if the following season the browns had a bad start and then just quit on Chud again. If we want coaching stability, then quit hiring shitty ass coaches. The same concept applies to our fucking QBs. So, again just fucking relax and wait to see what becomes of this firing.

Iggy I really hope your doom and gloom shit is a troll act, because if not you must live a sad life. You would be a very miserable person to hang out with. You don't even know anything about banner and you found a reason to hate him. I'm willing to bet when Haslam hired him, you had no idea who he was. You just wanted to find a way to spew your bs troll act. The fact you think Haslam just wants to sell tickets is completely fucking stupid. He knows the browns sell out regardless of record, and he knows Cleveland fans only care about winning. The guy shows up to all games and shows his displeasure when they suck ass, but yeah he only cares about making extra bucks. You simply are a fucking idiot troll.

Lastly, classlessposter just stfu. Do you ever read what you type before posting it? You already have little credibility on this site, and then you go ahead and say Marvin Lewis should be a HOF coach... LOL just stick to jerking off to overrated Detroit franchises.

Okay, I will, but it goes a lot deeper than just Chud getting fired. Unfortunately, I don't think it's quite as simple as "get your QB, get your coach, and we'll be fine"-it's an organization thing, and until that culture is changed, nothing will be fine.

Why do you think we keep firing coaches? Because we don't fucking hire good ones! This regime wasn't happy with 4-12, and they fired Chud. You would think an old man like you would love that mentality by this new regime.
Pick6;1558939 wrote:well fuck..i thought it was near impossible for any regime to be more incompetent than the last one, but within one fucking year these guys have already proven me wrong.
What have these guys done that is so incompetent? Seriously..give me one thing. And don't say firing Chud after 1 year. None of us know if that was a good or bad move, we'll have to wait and see. The last time this fanbase said "you gotta be kidding me, what are they thinking?!" they ended up fleecing the Colts. So lets hear it..

LOL speaking of "doesn't know what they're talking about" Free Agents aren't going to come play for Cleveland because they fired their rookie head coach after a season? Was Chud just absolutely beloved around the NFL? lol did you listen to all the Carolina players this year talk about how glad they are with their new coaches?

Also lol @ you watched every game and they didn't look so bad despite being 4-12! That's the most pathetic thing I've ever heard.
