First off, fuck the BCS. Here we have 2 unbeaten teams in Notre Dame and Ohio State (and I would assume it is safe to say that OSU would have won the B1G Championship game), but you have an unbeaten AP #1, followed by a 1-loss AP #2, then your other unbeaten AP #3.

If OSU were not bowl ineligible, would the power that be allow a 1-loss Alabama to go to the NCG above OSU? If it were to happen, then the BCS needs to be exploded. IDGAF if Bama is the best team in the county, they have not managed to win all of their games, and like every other team in the fucking country, they've had some close games... oh, and they've played some patty-cakes. The NCG is meant for, in my opinion, the best of what is left, and right now (if the bowl ban weren't present), the best of what is left is ND/OSU.

Depends on if some of the media wants to award a national championship to someone on probation.

The media has done it before. I think it has way more to do with OSU/B1G reputation and performance this year (fair or not) when compared to the SEC perception than anything about probation. I don't think anything would change if OSU were eligible.

First, you really seem to have your panties in a wad over something that doesn't matter a bit since Ohio State isn't eligible.

Second, Ohio State would probably be second in the human polls had they been eligible and won the B1G championship (especially if they won it in any similar fashion to the way Wisconsin did). The Plain Dealer contacted all AP voters two weeks ago and asked them about Ohio State and how they vote. About a third of the voters responded and they all said that Ohio State being ineligible didn't factor into where they were voting them, but I have to think that it played some role in their think, even if only subconsciously.

Third, the BCS is being blown up and we are being given a four team playoff next year.

With this CURRENT YEAR, these CURRENT TEAMS, Alabama would still be playing for the title.

This is factoring in the schedule-strength and conference-strength.

In any other year, an unbeaten B1G champion is a lock. We've seen it in the past when the B1G gets a second team in the BCS, which usually indicates conference strength. With that said, this was the worst B1G year in a long time...it was at-best, the 4th best conference.

The B1G has other than OSU no one higher than 19th. No really strong teams this year in the conference and our Rose Bowl team is the 28th team in the nation. They've gotta start stacking the non-conference because the B1G looks bad for awhile except Michigan

That's just my point... you don't have to start "stacking" the conference, when you have storied programs like I mentioned before. You just have to pick up on the recruiting, and gain different markets. I think Urban will bring that, and hope Hoke as well. With PSU having the year they did, I hope to see a pick up in recruiting for them as well. I just pray they can make it through the next 3 years!

I never said that a 1 loss team couldn't be better. In this situation, it is my opinion that a 1 loss team would not, should not be in the ncg over tOSU.

But is that really the best standard to go by? Who's "better"? Or should the standard go by who has had the better season? The B1G should fall in the same category as the big east. OSU is not championship caliber, nor should they of went to the title game this year based off their weak schedule and performance. I hate Bama as much as anyone, but you cant tell me OSU is on the same level as them.

So you want to allow for "obvious exceptions", except when your team is "obviously excepted"?
