It's a new team, new coach, new era.
History is destined to repeat itself if we don't learn from reviewing past mistakes. I'm very pleased with where Urban has us headed (and I wasn't one of those clamoring to get him here) but 3 NCs over a span of 5 yrs would have established OSU as one of the truly greatest CFB dynastys in history and its worth making sure people recognize what true POS's TWHPIH and Jimmy "The Liar" were during that span.

Ive talked to many plyers and coaches from that team and many of then will tell you Zwick was always All-World in practices during that era. He could throw a longer ball than TWHPIH but didnt have the legs Tressel wanted in his QBs because Tressel had the most rudimentary Offense imaginable and he knew his QB would have to run in desperation alot. Zwick would probably be starting in the NFL somewhere today if he had gone to another school that had any kind of a decent offensive strategy and coaching ability. Jimmy "The Liar" was the biggest fraud in CFB history.

Sucks for Griffin. He took a legacy offer, and had actually worked his way into the 2-deep at one point. Life will probably be ok for him though...lol!

Very unfortunate for Adam. Saw him play since he was in pee-wees. As a HS player one of the best 2-way players ever to come out of DeSales. He would have contributed this year on D for the Bucks.

Why is his career over regarding the shoulder surgery?

Not sure, but according to 11W...

http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2013/08/24678/shoulder-injury-could-end-adam-griffins-career
Adam Griffin, the son of two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin, and Jamie Wood have both suffered shoulder injuries that could be career ending.
Griffin, a redshirt junior cornerback, likely won't be able to continue his career, Ohio State announced Thursday. There were no details on his shoulder injury, only that he underwent surgery.
Griffin played in all 12 games last season and finished with 13 tackles. He made a key special teams play against Penn State, batting down a fake punt pass attempt. He won the Iron Buckeye Award last year, given to the student-athletes who best exemplified unquestionable physical training dedication, determination, discipline, toughness and leadership.
Wood has dealt with chronic shoulder injuries his entire career and was attempting a comeback this fall. The fifth-year safety, already a graduate, re-injured his shoulder, though. He had 20 career tackles.

I can understand someone already in the last year with chronic shoulder injuries having their career ended. But Griffin still has 1 year of eligibility left and generally a shoulder surgery isn't too hard to come back from unless the whole thing was just obliterated.

Well, it obviously wasn't a normal shoulder injury. Not sure what you're driving at here. If his career is over, it's not up to us to second guess it.

It happens.

A friend of mine had his football career cut short in the middle of his high school senior season due to chronic shoulder issues.

I'm not driving at anything, just seems odd is all. It could be he just feels like he's done with football or a terrible injury. I wouldn't fault him for either. In general I don't fault college athletes from walking away from a sport they were recruited for. They are student-athletes. If they are done being athletes, then that's fine. The student part should be the focus anyways.

That I understand. I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm more just curious if it was a really nasty injury that ruined his shoulder or he just feels like he's done at this point in his career. The article didn't mention Griffin having recurring shoulder problems like Jamie Wood.

2-3 game suspension, my best guess.

I'm pretty sure Dontre Wilson is the first Buckeye I've heard people compare to Teddy G since he left. We'll see in 2 and a half weeks if the comparisons are valid, but nobody is acting like TG was just regular fast.
That's what it seemed like...

As you stated... we'll see in 2 weeks if the comparisons are valid or not.

1 or nothing IMO. Disorderly is really no different than what Stoneburner and Mewhort got.

No way he gets 2-3 for disorderly conduct.
