So you admit that it takes time for a quarterback to develop, yet you want to keep drafting them until you find one who plays like a veteran as a rookie. But, at this point, we don't know how good he will end up. It's crazy to start over again after one year, not give him the chance to show what he can do. Showing glimpses of being a decent qb every 3rd game isn't impressive. Any qb can do that. Next season 75 QB rating. He was in the NFL 5 seasons before he had a QB rating over 80. Weeden passes the eye test for me. Colt didn't. Weeden has the tools, now he needs an OC when his head not up his own ass, and WRs who can catch the fucking ball. Weeden IMO will be fine for the browns.

The point is it is fucking idiotic to jump the ship on a first round QB after the first year. If it was a 3rd round QB, sure he can GFH and draft another QB. I wasn't a fan of the Weeden pick, still not, but i think he will be alright and if the Browns keep building around the D, and add a few more pieces on offense they will be tough. I think he was a 3rd round QB...we just drafted him in the first round.

Your post here illuminates the idiocy that postulates that "well, you have to play the higher draft picks...or those that get paid the most". Doesn't work that way. In the real world, credentials, possibilties, or probabilities don't matter once you enter the workforce.. He's better than McCoy but neither of them are going to lead us to the playoffs. Weeden has been in position to win games for us, and has failed miserably. Feel free to infer whatever meaning you want, but facts are facts, and it's a fact he hasn't been good. He CAN be good, but the blame/credit solely goes to him right now.
