My point is you Dont given up on a qb after 10 game especially after he has had glimpse of being a winning qb for drafting a qb for shits n gigs in the top five. Its stupid.

I was actually pro draft blackmon n Doug martin in the first round. Nice fail though. I also didn't mind drafting weeden in the second round for competition

Difference is, Weeden has the tools to get it done with the right supporting cast. McCoy doesn't. No way in Hell McCoy hits Gordon on those deep balls earlier in the year.

I'm more inclined to think it's not so much Weeden's supporting cast (although he could use a vet WR) as it is Shurmur's system. I don't think Weeden is a WCO dink & dunk kind of QB. He's more of a vertical guy. I think he'd thrive in an offense like Bruce Arians runs. And before you say it, it's very possible that Shurmur's system screwed McCoy up too.

Colt McCoy's stats last year with no running back and same group of shitty recievers minus Gordon:
Games Played:13 TD:14 Int:11 Completion %: 57.2 Rating: 74.6

Brandon Weeden's stats this year with good running back and Gordon:
Games Played: 10 TD: 11 Int:12 Completion %: 55.3 Rating: 70.3

Really do not know how Weeden isnt considered shitty if McCoy was.

You DID forget to put in there that Weeden is a rookie and McCoy was in his second year. If Weeden looks as shitty as McCoy next year I'll buy what you're selling.

Weeden can stretch the field.....McCoy doesn't make as many bad decisions....it is just a trade off of what you prefer. I prefer neither...lol

Spin spin spin spin spin

Its the WRs fault! No its the coaches fault!

Face it, Weeden sucks and you're all oblivious to that.

Considering McCoy didnt have a training camp and had not had a full starting season under his belt yet, I cant agree.

I think looking at their first 16 games started would probably be the most accurate comparison.

McCoy isn't going to turn the ball over because he's afraid to cut it loose and make a mistake. That could be on Shurmur telling him not to turn it over. I'm starting to think Weeden is getting that same fear (of cutting it loose).

If the Browns are going to beat the Steelers, Shurmur is going to have to let Weeden throw a few deep balls.

Weeden has a strong arm, that's it. That is all he has shown as far as "tools".

How can you not prefer Weeden hes a rookie and has only played 10 games!!!

Yet br and others kept saying "thank god we didn't draft blackmon" ..after 5 games ....

Not really. Andy Dalton, a rookie, didn't have training camp either.

And I still stand behind it. I think Gordon can be as good as, or better, than Blackmon. Top 5 pick on a WR, especially not one seen as elite, is a waste.

Missed my point completely..you said before the draft blackmon will suck. After 5 games you used his first 5 games as reason to say you were right.

I said before the draft that Weeden will suck. After 10 games im using his first 10 games to say I told you so.

Yet you say we can't make that judgment because hes a rookie and its only been 10 games. Contradict much?

How about this...
Weeden's first 10 games:
Completion: 55.3% TD: 10 INT: 11 QBR: 22.8 Rating: 70.3

McCoy's first 10 games:
Completion: 59.8% TD: 9 Int: 10 QBR: 46.18 Rating: 76.34
1 rushing TD as well.

I really wasnt as down as some people on here, but after comparing him and McCoy, along with his age and lack of mobility, I cannot see why anybody with rational thoughts that was done with McCoy would want to give Weeden more time.

Either way they are both below average QBs. Cleveland is in a tough spot but I don't think drafting another QB is a viable option, let McCoy and Weeden fight for the job next year, It really can't get much worse. Fill some other holes with the draft.

lol...you can't compare rookie WRs to rookie QBs. That's just retarded. QB is the hardest position in professional sports to learn and be good at. Give Weeden another year with a good coach and see what you have. It's crazy to start over every year.

And draft a QB every year with your first pick until you finally like what you get is insane. Some of this stuff has me wondering what some of you are smoking.

Finally getting a good QB is insane? Its not like we'd go 10 drafts until we find a good QB. It'd be at most 3 drafts taking a first round QB. No different than the trade the redskins made.

So you draft a QB in the first round for 3 strait years (4 counting last draft) and neglect the rest of the team....got ya

Hey, come on now, you and I have been in this thing since the beginning.
