I don't have a problem with bama being the top one loss team or being ranked ahead of OSU. (our schedule hasn't been bad, but it also hasn't been great) i do think Oregon, k state and Notre dame have all played a tough enough schedule to keep them ranked higher than any one loss sec team if they all win out.

7th. Lost to a 2 loss team at home, the SEC isn't all that great that this year and they all played poor OOC schedules.

ND and OSU have yet to lose so close calls or not... doesn't matter. My contention is that the SEC played a particularly pathetic OOC conference schedule (especially the "top" teams), so not getting any L's isn't really that impressive. I just don't think the SEC is as good this year as they have been in recent history.

Agreed. A lot of incomplete teams. Only Alabama is "elite." Florida and LSU have serious offensive problems. Georgia is mentally obsolete. The conference as a whole just isn't that great.

I would like you to list the teams that actually played good OOC games this year. This should be fun. They arent as good this year as years past but still easily the best conference.

Michigan played 2 Top 5 teams in their OOC games. Not too bad.

Why? I'm not claiming that other teams have. I'm just claiming that this year the SEC isn't as good as they have been in the past (and not as far above other conferences). They played a week OOC. And some of their "best" teams have struggled mightily against less than stellar competition (like everyone else).

I'm just of the opinion that SEC teams shouldn't be protected and not drop as far in the polls as other teams. The league isn't nearly as good this year in my opinion.

'Bama only dropped to 4 in the AP Poll. I thought they'd end up around 6th or 7th.

I must have hallucinated that game early in the year when #8 Arkansas went all the way from Top 10 to out of the polls for losing to a Sun Belt team to open their season.

It also doesn't help almost all of the sec teams ooc schedule is full of fbs and sunbelt teams

It's not really about the SEC OOC schedules; most schools schedule cupcakes. The problem is the SEC schools start out much higher in the pre-season rankings based on nothing but a guess(see Arkansas, they started out 5th and couldn't even win the SEC East). When they lose, they lost to a "ranked" so they only drop back 3-4 spots as opposed to other schools who drop 7-8 spots. It's a positive feedback loop and only the ignorant deny this.

I was talking about the ones who are currently in the top 10. All their losses are to each other and nobody else.

It's part of the SEC strategy to play easier games later in the season; since losses earlier in the season don't mean as much.
