At least if Romney loses FL we won't have to sit around and wait on OH for 10 days. Of course there's going to be an auto-recount in FL

Pretty much. Historic day the country was lost for good. Europe here we come. Four more years of suckitude and a Repub might have a shot, but if you can't beat Obama with this record good luck winning another election. At least as long as the media is in the bag.

It's really not a surprise. If you like Obama's policies and positions, why wouldn't you vote for Obama instead of the white guy that holds the same positions and proposes the same policies? Maybe next time the Republicans will offer a real choice.

If Obama does end up winning, I guarantee that 4 more years of his administration the American people will be desperate for a change. They thought Bush was bad, just wait. No consequences for Obama, he can do whatever he wants now.

Yippee looks like Obama will win thanks to all the welfare douche fucks and Latinos. Can't wait to pay an arm and a leg for health care and my fiancé to lose her job once her employer goes under

can't wait for the Obama executive order tour, coming soon to an issue near you. Why get Congress involved when he can just do it himself?

I just don't understand, D or R, how one can win the popular vote, but lose the election based on electoral votes. It just doesn't make sense.

Yeah! He doesn't even have to worry about congress!

Gore won the popular vote, but lost the election to Bush in 2000.

because key states have large populations of a certain party. Why vote when your vote doesn't count? If you live in a battleground state in the boonies and you have a large city near you, what's the point in voting when the state is going to go to the other party?

not when he can issue executive orders and have his departments do what he wants. I'll give you a for instance. Say gun control, obviously Dems would love to ban guns outright, but that won't fly in Congress. He can have the EPA ban lead bullets and other components needed for guns, presto back door gun control. If you can't get anything to shoot out of them, guns become pretty useless.

If you went strictly by popular vote, you give to much voting power to the highly populated areas. Though lately, it seems to back fire.

Getting very tight in Ohio, and Florida is crazy close. Romney simply has to prevail in VA, FL, and OH

Because the popular vote doesn't elect the president. The states do. Each state decides how their electors are chosen and vote. This is a republic, not a democracy. The national popular vote is meaningless. States decide how they will cast their vote for president.

I know this is the case and I'm not sure I would suggest a change to popular vote... But what about now? Ohio and a handful of other states received 90% of the attention from candidates.
