Don't like losing Choo. But he wasn't going to sign here next year. The Deal will be a very good one if Bauer pitches up to expectations.
Any word on how "close" we will be to not signing Swish?
Word is that he will wait until Hamilton signs...which will "crystalize the market". he losers in that derby will turn their attention to swisher and the bidding war will begin. In other words...we're screwed.

...huh.... just was listening on the radio (ESPN) and they were talking about what a great defender he is. I guess we'll find out.
His speed makes him good at running down balls gap to gap, and he will throw people out at the plate. However, he will let balls drop in front of him, he can't make plays against the wall, and he dives like every time is the first time. Just don't expect him to make the web gem type plays.

Jack Hannahan signs with the Reds. Loved his glove, but I would think he is just a fill in guy or late game replacement for the Reds.

Reds needed someone to backup Frazier at 3rd. Also, this pretty much assures us that Rolen will not be back.

i believe the angels now have more money committed to hamilton and pujols per year than the indians do to the entire team

If Masterson or Ubaldo get off to a good start the Dolan's might want to consider moving them immediately.

The Tigers just gave Anibal Sanchez, (48-51 career record and 9-13 last season) a 5 year $80 million deal.

They will be virtually unsignable if that is the going rate for a largely mediocre pitcher/innings eater type.

Wonder if the GM that signed Anibal Sanchez is the same guy that signed Pronk.

I don't know if Dolan would feel comfortable putting money up front like that with a Groupon

LoL. Agreed. I bet it went down like this.

Swish and Shapiro walk into the restaurant.

Swish: Applebees, huh?
Shapiro: Yea man. This place is great. It one of Chris Berman's favorites. You know Boomer? Good friend of mine.
Swish: riiiiight.
Shapiro: Anywho....you don't mind ordering off the 2 for 20 menu? You get an app, a killer entree plus a desert. This place is great. (Waitress approaches) Yes, two waters please.
Swish: Just water?
Shapiro: Oh gosh. I'm sorry. With lemon please. If you use one pack of Equal and one pack of Sweet N Low it tastes just like Lemonade.

Swisher: "Ill have the Grand Slam"
Shapiro: "Wait a minute, Swish. This is Cleveland, not NY. We dont do 'Grand Slams'."

Exactly....I might even think they might contend (feeling giddy).

Truth is that he will be visiting at least three other teams.....I expect Texas or Philly to come swooping in at the end.

The Tribe made their best pitch to Swisher today.... lighting up the scoreboard and even trotting out some Ohio State people to help convince him to sign with the Tribe....but came up empty...at least for now. Swisher reportedly will visit at least three other teams.

They are in play to drive the price up. I just hope he doesn't sign somewhere else for a reasonable price.

Don't like that at all. If anything, the Indians should be getting Procello and a prospect for Perez.
