Trade Stubbs and Leake away if possible, bring in Josh Hamilton. OF would be Hamilton, Heisey, Bruce if that happened.
Lineup: 2B Phillips, CF/LF Heisey, Votto, LF/CF Hamilton, RF Bruce, 3B Frazier, SS Cozart, C Hanigan
That's my dream scenario but highly unlikely to happen. All depends on what happens with Luddy, Bailey, Leake, and Stubbs in the offseason. If they're not gonna play Heisey much more next year just trade him or something bc they're just wasting him IMO.

I want nothing to do with Josh Hamilton. There is a 0% chance they'd go after him anyway.

I can't say this is direct information, but it's from a decent source who is fairly well-connected with a few people who work in the Reds front-office staff.
Hamilton and the Reds had a tumultuous relationship. He was grateful for the opportunity they gave him and they really liked his passion and overcoming the odds story. However, he was NOT happy in Cincinnati and they were not happy with having to basically babysit him 24/7. I've heard a few stories about how it created a fracture in the clubhouse and he was basically operating on an island with his own schedule, training regimen and team rules. The trade to Texas was less about improving the team and more about trying to avoid an explosion. Not that he was going to go off the rails or quit on the Reds, but they got the sense that time was running out and that they had to get what they could while his value was decent. Volquez was NOT their first choice, in-fact, the Reds actually balked at even taking him because they felt he was a bad fit for GABP and had some injury concerns. Obviously the deal happened.
Bottom line. The Reds already have 90M+ committed to payroll and one of the top 10 prospects in baseball who plays CF. They couldn't afford Josh Hamilton and even if he would take 50% of what he will demand, the Reds still wouldn't pay him that. He would never consider the Reds either.

Did they say why he wasn't happy here or if there were any other possible teams in play for him?

I wouldn't want any part of Hamilton either. He's one test away from being gone forever.
Bourne would be awesome. But let's face the facts. They spent a lot of money last offseason. The team next year will be basically the same. Gotta hope guys improve.

It's obviously not true. You can't make trades until after the World Series...

These cats are easy. Lol
Lorenzo Cain is the awesome CF that splits time for the Royals. Brewers had him and he dazzled against us making one of the best plays I've ever seen. The Royals have 3 guys that play CF that are possibly 3 of the top defensive CF in the game.....and Dyson may be the best.
I believe Cain is also a lefty....I bet the Royals would bite.

Just read a tweet saying reds are close to signing broxton. Looks like they may try chapman out as a starter after all.

Would love to see Chapman's arm hold up as a starter, but I have my doubts.
