This is a trainwreck. Worst team in school history. How did the once proud Golden Bears evolve into a 1982 Hillsdale team? Something has to change.

Tell me about the Sophs and Jrs...? I've seen many teams led by those.

So is it the Seniors? The parents?

Or the pee wee staff?

Beast, I have said on here MANY, MANY times that you are only as good as your seniors. THEY should be the leaders of the team and we haven't gotten that from them ALL year and it started from day one when your best football player (a senior) gets suspended from scrimmages and games because he gets into some trouble with the law. Has it gotten any better? No. We have a senior get kicked out of practice and then he quits. Then, HE gets into some major trouble. Maybe Strausbaugh #1 was sick but come on...he has 2 football games left in his career. However, I know we can't put all the blame on them and it is a TEAM effort. But come on........

The Strausbaugh boy is a good kid. Ever have bad strep throat? Nasty. I would not quesion him on that one bit. The other situation, very sad. A long time coming and I am confident the coach was not the issue.

He missed school Tuesday but was there Wednesday and Thursday...went to team breakfast yesterday morning...seemed ok...just saying. Kids have changed BIG TIME...how many players "back in the day" would have missed a game, of any kind, because they were sick? Be honest!!!! AND...where does that start?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Jmar...I could use you here

You blamed the seniors last year ,said the juniors were the leaders. Now you say the Seniors aren't leading ,the underclassmen are. What happened? Did they lose their leadership over the summer? Just curious as I've known a few leaders and you don't lose it.

Look, I have no clue what or if there was an actual sickness. All I know is what I know about the family and history and Josh is not a quitter!
I will not comment on the other situation becasue it is sad and has been in the making for some time. Anytime a boy loses him father at a young age there will be challenges. I just pray this boy and his family can face those challenges and overcome them.
Lets face it, the Bears were not going to beat Dalton or even compete. They do have a chance next week against Rittman to end the season with a win. Her is hoping the kids realize this and give it their all.
Good luck to the Bears next week.

You just stated the problem in your post....not enough senior leadership. Plain and simple!

There you have it....the first 0 fer in school history...how does a program recover from that? Although I don't beleive it's all the coaching staffs fault, you almost have to start anew to rebound from this don't you? Thoughts?

Agreed, iced earth. This isn't all on a coach or his staff, but better leadership for the entire program is obviously needed. They all share responsibility for the worst season in Waynedale history. If you survive this that tells the community that total failure is acceptable. I read that article this a.m. about the Rittman game and literally got angry. Renewed passion for rebuiding the program is needed. This season was beyond an embarassment.
