I don't know how much experience these Brookfield young men have, but a majority of the starters for Norwayne started last year as well when they won the state title. There were obviously some key losses to graduation, but new players have stepped in and have done an exceptional job. In the last two seasons, these boys are 26-1. They will not get steam-rolled because they know how to fight, scratch, and claw their way to victory. I see it either being a very close game with a Norwayne victory, or a blowout where Norwayne runs away with it. I wouldn't mind seeing a close game, however, because I plan on going to it.

Brookfield also brought back a lot. Basically all of the skill and most of the line.
Brookfield will be fine an norwayne will have their hands full. Sleep on the warriors and they will lose.

A question for our friends from the East: How would this year's Brookfield team compare with last year's Girard team?

Well, Being they won a title last year, I doubt Norwayne is stupid enough to sleep on anyone. I still say Norwayne by 3-4 Td's.........Good luck to Brookfield..Spread All Day;1317884 wrote:Brookfield also brought back a lot. Basically all of the skill and most of the line.

They do it by geography (creating the least amount of travel for each semi), which pretty much guarantees it'll be Region 15, as usual.Con_Alma;1318019 wrote:It's not predetermined. The OHSAA decides.

I think they would win by 7 to 14 against Girard from last year. Brookfield is going to have a tough time with the passing game of Norwaynes if they don't get pressure on the qb. I am not worried about their running game. Brookfield has seen 2 better backs already this year and shut them down.

D-IV Reg 13 Final: Brookfield 12-0 vs. def state champ Norwayne 12-0 at Stow Friday 7:30. State semi bracket just out: If Norwayne wins it gets St. Clairsville-Johnstown winner. Great draw away from Hartley, O-G, Clin-Massie

Seems logical and surprising coming from them.ts1227;1318044 wrote:They do it by geography (creating the least amount of travel for each semi), which pretty much guarantees it'll be Region 15, as usual.

Thanks Okie, but if Brookfield beats last year's Girard team by 14 they're going to play for awhile this year. That was a good team.
A "better" running back won't necessarily have success without a good line and offensive scheme. The challenge in defending Norwayne is their unpredictability.

LMOA, so i take it the bulldogs didn't make the play-offs and are currently spending their time eating more sandwiches, i figured as much.Waynes World;1317341 wrote:4 is the dalton bullfrogs number
the bullfrogs won 4 games
the teams the bullfrogs beat won a grand total of 4 games
their fans eat about 4 sandwiches a game
Norwayne Bobcats beat the bullfrogs 54-8
that would be about the score if they played Brookfield
that would be the halftime score if they played the Irish

I agree with the unpredictability aspect of your statement. It's just that I am more worried about Norwaynes passing attack then their running. I think this game will be decided in the fourth quarter. I expect Norwayne to take an early lead and Brookfield to win in the end. Also the Girard team was excellent last year and I am a Warrior so take my pick for Brookfield vs Girard for what it's worth.kurty66;1318107 wrote:Thanks Okie, but if Brookfield beats last year's Girard team by 14 they're going to play for awhile this year. No way does this Brookfield team beat last years Girard by 14. I'd pick the warriors but not by a lot.
And another year adds more experience. More talent, more confidence.
Losing that Wallace kid is going to be critical, as the warriors could not stop him last season.

The best Brookfield has is still in junior high. Also if I'm correct Norwayne didn't make the playoffs till 2010. So they don't have much history also. Brookfield in 1978! I know a long time ago!

That's awesome if you guys are enjoying success and still have some great classes coming up. That is how you establish a tradition of winning.OkieDokie;1318450 wrote:The best Brookfield has is still in junior high. Also if I'm correct Norwayne didn't make the playoffs till 2010. Norwayne's first playoff appeareance was in 2008. They have been there the last 3 years since. This years senior class I believe has now won 40 games and 8 of 9 playoff games. Norwayne has won 18 straight games and 26 of the last 27.

Thanks for the correction. Just looked it up and your correct. They don't have much past history but that doesn't mean anything for this game and outcome. Good luck to both teams!Bobcat;1318493 wrote:Norwayne's first playoff appeareance was in 2008. They have been there the last 3 years since.
