Sleeper wasnt trolling with his Independants thread. Half of the teams haven't won a game yet, and only one undefeated team 3 weeks into the season. Not good.

In all fairness yes he should have been warned or infracted. With the warning you all could have moved it to the basement and explained to him not to start threads like this in other forums. You leave the door wide open for sleeper and others that like to start crap. All they have to do is say they are a fan of said team and if you infract them then they have all rights to raise hell about it.

I understand what people are saying, it is true people could do that, but most of the threads are started by the same people and generally people already know who everyone roots for. I think there is some difference between, for example, sleepers threads and this thread. No one takes sleepers thread serious at all, but they are horribly repetitive, and whether anyone likes it or not ND has beat two of the premier Big Ten teams this year, so there really is no need for countless "ND sucks" threads. The Big Ten however has sucked balls this year and it's mostly Big Ten fans discussing how painful its been. I understand people saying it should be treated equal because people will take advantage of what you were taking about, but in reality there is only a few people who will bother to try to exploit that. I personally don't have any problem with the Big Ten thread and if a legit ND fan wants to start a ND sucks thread if they start losing, more power to them. It is kind of sad that grown men are crying about something not being fair.

Not true. Attacking a team is not the same as a conference at all. It is similar, but when talking about a collective group of teams it takes on a much different meaning. Plus, when an ND Fan starts a thread about ND blowing, it should stand imo. Specific posts should be infracted within said threads (like multiple have in this one), but the thread itself is fine in nature.

Everyone knows you arent an ND fan. That wouldnt work. In fact, 90% of the posters on this site have their fandom known. Is it possible? Yes. But this is obvious venting versus obvious trolling...

As I said before, most posters' fandom is known. Plus, venting and trolling is pretty different and usually not tough to decipher.

There is nothing wrong or against any rule badmouthing a team. Trolling is different than actual observations. Not to mention, this thread is about THIS year not the past 20.

No it isn't. Do you just make rules up as you go along? Please have the rules updated to include "No trolling if the principle of the thread implies trolling based on a similar thread". Then apply this rule to all members regardless of what school they root for.

By the time we are done, all we will be able to post is "What did you have for lunch today?" which could be what Justin wants all along. :thumbdown:

It's funny that the most threads that get moved to the basement are the ones you created or that you derailed.

Sleeper, you have yet yo recognize that the way you behave yourself (as pointed out by Crimson Streak) is clearly unacceptable. A technicality will not prevent your thread from being considered trolling.

Instead of constantly crying and bitching about everything take a step back and examine yourself. There are plenty of posters who manage to post here fine without causing problems. There are posters who used to cause problems but have for the most part changed their behavior to be more acceptable and are no longer at odds with moderators all the time. You are one of the few individuals who refuses to accept the fact that the problem isn't all the moderators but the way you interact with others.

Your idea that you think laley is the new "me" highlights this perfectly. It's always the mod's fault that and never your own. Grow up.
