LaPorta is hitting like .180 in Columbus this month. Why would he get a call up?
He has been hitting well down there for most of the year. Wouldn't hurt to try, especially if you are not going to make a deal to get any RH help. What are we losing by taking any of the others out of the lineup. Cunningham's .180 ave? Damon's pop gun arm? Duncan's K's?

I agree. Bring him up and let him play out the rest of the season, unless you're planning on trading him. We need to see what he can do without the threat of sending him down the first time he goes ohfer.

Still need a RH bat in this lineup. I can't believe we don't even hear rumors.
I see a 0 percent chance of acta getting canned. They didn't can wedge in season in 2006, 08, or 09, during our "window of contention", and those teams all hugely underachieved.

Maybe we can lure jermaine dye out of retirement.

Last night, I was listening to Acta on the pre-game and he was going on about how well all the players get along with each other.

What was that old saying by Leo Durocher? Yeah.

From TheSports Fix (on Facebook)....

[h=6]The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has acquired INF/OF BRENT LILLIBRIDGE from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for RHP JOSE DE LA TORRE.

The versatile Lillibridge, 28, has spent most of his Major League career to date with the Chicago White Sox (2009-12) before being traded to Boston on June 24 in exchange for INF Kevin Youkilis. The Seattle, Washington native owns a career Major League batting average of .212 (114-538) with 19 doubles, 16 home runs and 58 RBI in 295 career games. He has also stolen 30 bases. Last season was his best offensive Major League campaign to date, hitting .258 (48-186) with 5 2B, a career-high 13 home runs and 29 RBI in 97 games with the White Sox (.340OB/.505SLG/.845OPS).

Defensively for his career, Brent has appeared in double-digit games at every position around the diamond with the exception of pitcher and catcher. This season between Boston and Chicago-AL he has appeared in 28 games in the outfield (16 LF, 8CF, 4RF), 22 games at first base and 6 games at third base. He was designated for assignment by Boston on July 16.

To allow room on the 40-man roster for Lillibridge the Indians transferred INF LONNIE CHISENHALL from the 15-day to the 60-day Disabled List.

My God! The Pale Hose couldn't get rid of this stiff fast enough. Youkilis and all his clubhouse baggage didn't deter the Sox from making that trade and now he's an Indian? Hawk Harrelson must be laughing his ass off about now.

I already don't like the guy because his name reminds me of Lilliquist.

Anybody going to start the next thread before game time?

Edit: I think "accusation" actually works in that statement by Crimson!
