Haha. I'm afraid I am going to go down with the ship on this one. But I keep hope alive.

I guess since there is still a chance, admittedly just a sliver of one now, that the facts as they further unfold will reveal that Paterno was telling the truth all along and that at worst he was simply guilty of choosing to accept an alternative rationale for what McQueary saw based on wanting to believe in the innocence of a friend, I am holding out on the hope that JoePa was the man who he said he was. Call it whatever you want, but I want to believe that. Because, if that kind of corruption can find JoePa, then it can find anyone. And that's a tough reality to swallow, especially for a longtime admirer of Coach Paterno.

I don't view it that way at all. I am simply reserving judgement until more facts come to light through the testimonies of Tim Curley and Gary Schultz that can, hopefully, give us a clearer understanding of what those emails in the Freeh Report really mean. Based on the information we have now, we can only draw opinions.

If I were in JoePa's shoes (if he were still alive), I'd want the same done for me.

Which is why I prefaced that with "hopefully."
