I don't like replays on out calls....Just no.

Replays for iffy HR's are ok, but leave it at that. Blown calls are apart of the game. Bad strikes, bad calls, arguments, etc...

Did you watch the video that was posted? The first baseman was literally 2 feet off the base and the runner was called out.

Replay would have instantly negated that call and called him safe.

It doesn't need to be some drawn out process. Just have another ump in the booth and let him make the call. He buzzes down to tell them they are wrong and that's that. The on-field umps don't need to go under the hood, so the speak.

It was part of the game in Hockey, Football and Basktball also. They changed for the better. Why would anyone want blown calls?

Why is replay okay on iffy HRs?

It's not, but they already changed it. Baseball has been dying a slow death because many find it boring. Let's add more replay to slow down the game even more. Brilliant!

No, I did not watch the video. I also didn't post a picture showing the runner was easily safe.

Because blown calls create controversy and keep the "what if" factor of the game alive. Why don't we just eliminate umps completely?

Let computers call balls and strikes and have replay determine if a runner was safe.

In fact, we could poll the crowds sitting along the 1B line in an interactive game by waving their hands to move the base runner after he hits the ball.

You bet being stuck in their ways will intrigue more younger people into coming fans, eventually?

What if the ump wasn't a dick head and didn't refuse to ask for help?

Right on.

You don't need instant replay for this particular play. You NEED the HP ump to correct it! That's more bull shit than the call itself.

He can't.

(edit) What I found-

The exact rule in the MLB rule book is 9.02 (c)
"If a decision is appealed, the umpire making the decision may ask another umpire for information before making a final decision. No umpire shall criticize, seek to reverse or interfere with another umpire's decision unless asked to do so by the umpire making it."

If the base ump would of been willing to ask the home plate ump if he was wrong, then maybe it would have been over turned.

Least how I'm reading it?

Again... THIS is the bullshit, not the fact there is no replay.

Or lets blow it all out of proportion and make ridiculous claims as to what replay would turn into lol.

Baseball isnt dying a slow death because people find it boring, its dying because it is WAY to regionalized.

True in Cleveland. Wasn't in the early-mid 90's Cleveland went multiple years with continual sold out home games?

I would say baseball is still very popular and me and the girlfriend are young but love going up to Comerica to watch the Tigers and even the Mud Hens. Still to say baseball doesn't replay is stupid. Saying blown calls are part of the game is the most ignorant thing I've ever heard. What's wrong with calling a mistake free game and letting people you know get what they've earned
