Also, it felt better than I ever thought it could to see Ohio State not in some sort of I formation 75% of the time. This offense may struggle at times with a sophomore qb and a lack of playmakers, but it's refreshing to know that they won't just keep going back to running up the middle.

I think he's great already. Dude was a stud last year. Fickell and Vrabel dropped the ball last year with regards to his PT. I'm not sure how long they subjected us to Storm Klein and his wooden leg. Every time Shazier was on the field the dude made plays.

They said he's put on 17 lbs so that will help him more this year. I guess his playing weight was around 205 last year, so he's one of the guys taking advantage of the strength and conditoning program. I think Braxton, the rbs, and Jordan Hall could be dangerous in the regular season. I'm pumped for opening Kickoff now.

He had a tweaked foot. Everyone else that Meyer said that about (Simon, Stoneburner) was in uniform, Hall was in sweats.

Anyway, I thought the offense looked 1,000,000,000x better than it did just a few months ago. Braxton's mechanics are a ton better and I think this offense will finally cut down on the decisions he needs to make, which will make them much more efficient.

I really liked the way Hyde and Dunn were running the times they got the chance. It's gonna be fun to see all the plays they decide to run out of having a 235 lb running back split out wide.

Defense was vanilla but I was impressed not only with Shazier but Christian Bryant as well. Not only did he intercept a pass that came his way, but it seemed he was wrapping up on tackles rather than just going for huge hits. That right there would close down a lot of holes from last year.

I agree. Braxton had two very bad throws one was his INT to Griffin where he threw it 3 feet over the TE's head, the other he tried to jam it into double coverage. I think the offense was very vanilla as well. I was disapointed there were not more shots down field. There were a couple of big hook ups 15-20 yards over the middle on some crossing routes though. Overall I am happy, the offense was unpredictable on down and distance and the team executed well. When they turn braxton loose this offense will really show its potential. I would not be surprised if Braxton is our leading rusher in the fall.

I was very impressed with Dunn and Thomas. Even if you take away the size comparison, Dunn runs alot like Beanie Wells. I think Thomas is the next Michael Jenkins.

I thought Rod Smith had a much better day than Dunn. I'm not sure why everyone seems to be forgetting him.

I'm not saying Dunn had a better day than Smith. I'm just saying that I was impressed by the way Dunn runs for a kid that should still be in High School. He had some good power runs, and had the Beanie-esque cutback run that went for good yardage.

Our RBs are very solid. I think Hyde has the best vision. Smith the best power. Hall the best speed. Dunn has the most upside. One of them needs to put the whole package together. I think vision and hitting cutback lanes is the biggest area for improvement needed for the group as a whole.

Personally I think we see Hall as a hybrid, Hyde get the most carries as a traditional type RB, but essentially splitting with Smith. Then Dunn just being a role relief player. That's pretty good though for Dunn. Stealing a few carries a game from the 3 established RB's in front of you is quite the feat.

If I was an intelligent defensive player for Ohio State fighting for a spot, I would memorize the offensive hand signals, so I would know what play was coming.
