I like it. He throws Braxton in the one on one drill.

Braxton didn't look like he had progressed all that much today. Offense still has a ton of work to do. Michael Thomas is a stud though

I think him being limited to not making plays with his feet had a bit to do with that. But yes the offense is a work in progress fo sho.

I thought Stoneburner would have been a little more involved today.

Often going no-huddle, Braxton Miller finished 24/31 for 258 yards on the day, looking much more comfortable and delivering crisp passes in the pocket and on the run to lead Scarlet to a 20-14 victory over Gray. Freshman wide receiver Michael Thomas, wearing the 83 made famous by Terry Glenn, was Miller's top target on the day, hauling in a staggering 12 receptions for 131 yards.

He didn't have all his #1s, his top receiver just stepped on campus a few months ago, wasn't allowed to really run, new offense, etc. I am just happy he didn't throw a bunch of ducks.

I thought Miller looked a lot better. Still room for improvement, obviously.

Mike Thomas seems like he is going to be good!

I'm just getting back from Columbus, Wish it would have been at least 10-15 degrees warmer but it was still a great atmosphere for a Spring Game. The main thing that I came away with was Michael Thomas is gonna be a star.

I was talking more about his decision making. Skill wise he is very good. Definitely an A+ plus athlete, no argument there.

The rationalizations are there, but not having #1s has nothing to do with throwing I'll advised passes into double coverage or throwing the ball right to the defense.

He showed flashes for sure, and if we have 1st drive Miller all season long, we'll be fine (and pretty happy).

Point taken, but he will be a sophomore. If he was a junior or senior, I would worry more.

Thought wrong. The studs who Meyer knows what they can do didn't play much.

You should know that you only saw about a 20th of the offense today. Miller was not allowed to run. No read options. Did you see any motion? Did you see any jet sweeps? Did you see Jordon Hall? Did you see Stoneburner? You didn't know, but the defense DID know that 75% of the plays would be passes.

That's what I took from the game, that we really didn't see but a fraction of what will come this fall. What was encouraging was seeing a five-receiver set, no-huddle offense. If Meyer's spread is working this fall, there will be a whole lot of 5 and 10 yard passes until defenses start cheating up. Then the downfield game will take over.

As for the no-huddle, I was more impressed at how the defenses reacted to it. I think the strength and conditioning is already showing positive results. This could be a very interesting season, to be sure.

Meyer felt Miller needed work in the offense, especially the passing game. He even said this.

I don't think the number of pass plays means a thing.

They stated in the beginning of the game they were going passing:running 3:1. I would have liked to seen more read option and run plays, but its a glorified scrimmage. Meyer can do what he wants.

No... He won't be playing against 2nd and 3rd teamers in the fall. Other guys will catch those errant throws.

From an evaluation standpoint his decision making must improve. That's all I was saying. That's the part of his game I didn't notice alot of improvement in.

He's got a ton of skills and he'll be fine though. Just needs more PT and more time with real offensive minds and not Tress' yes men (Bollman & Siciliano)

I was just going by what the announcers claimed to have discussed with the coaching staff. It was said that they chose that ratio to work on the passing game and see which receivers would be able to perform in game situations. All I'm taking from it is exactly that. The receiver corps needs experience. Hall didn't even play because Meyer had already seen enough from him in the off season.

Ok. Noted. Only positive feedback is allowed. (I think that is what you at saying anyway?) That's an albatross of a sentence.

Braxton needs to not make some of those mistakes, I don't know how that can be argued, but overall I was fine with the game. Still learning this offense which is light years ahead of what he had to work with last year. Michael Thomas will be the next big WR at Ohio State, no doubt about it. I like Devin Smith and supposedly Philly Brown has looked the best, but Thomas is the real deal. I also loved how Brionte Dunn looked. A LOT of very good, very young talent on this team between Braxton, Thomas, Dunn, Shazier, and Roby. I could see all five being first team all B1G at minimum before they leave Columbus.

Also, Shazier owned Sabino in the pregame one on one battles. If he doesn't win one of the major awards before he leaves I would be surprised. That's a high bar to set, but he's as talented a linebacker I can remember seeing for coming out of his freshman year. I'm 26 so forgive me if someone looked better from the mid 90s and before. :)
