Just bought my first lottery ticket(s).

I bought 5. Maybe I'll go again to a different gas station to buy some more tomorrow or Friday.

Your odds do increase when you buy more tickets. But the increase is so minuscule that you're almost certainly just throwing money down the toilet, on top of the bare cost of entry ($1):

Odds of winning with one ticket: 1 in 175,711,536 (0.000000569115%)
Odds of winning with two unique tickets: 1 in 87,855,768 (0.000001138229%)
Odds of winning with three unique tickets: 1 in 58,570,512 (0.000001707344%)

Before anyone says anything, yes, you are almost certainly throwing away money when you spend the cost of entry as well.
