now who's comment deserves a laugh. Was it our fault your 2nd and 3rd pitcher threw beach balls to the plate, thats if they got in the general direction of the plate.

Travel Ball gives the boys (young men) a lot of valuable experience, tougher competion and extends the season greatly. This only improves their skill level. Mr 300 is travel ball even an option down there in Holmes county with Amish Buggies being the vehicle of choice?Mr. 300;1142818 wrote:Lulz at the comment going right over your heads. Marshall says last night's game should have been 2-1, yet he never said Tuesday's game should have been a 2-0 or 3-2 win for West Holmes.
You guys and your coach are always good for the Lulz. Travel ball players rock!!

The comment didn't go over my head...you wrote the exact same thing quoting Marshall on JJ Huddle prior to writing your original post here. I guess when you've posted nearly 3000 posts here and another 5000 posts on JJ it probably gets tough keeping it all straight. The fact is your beloved Knights lost a key game to us. You have Ashland in 2 weeks, we have Ashland at the end of the year. I like our chances better than yours because Ashland will have a tough decsion to make regarding when to pitch their ace...for the OCC or for the state tourney. FWIW I wish WH all the luck in the world against Ashland...go,get em Knights...at least beat them one time and lose one time.

Don't address him about travel ball...he posted last year he brought his kid up to Orrville for a travel baseball tryout...he knows the pros of travel ball. Probably ticked his kid didn't make the team.

You guys are a hoot. Always fun to get you out of your nest!I like our chances with the starters we have. The race will be fun down the stretch. Also, FYI, ask the head coach of The Crush if he wanted my son on his roster. Go straight to the source for your answer. LULZ

I definitely like your chances against Ashland at your field with your umpires
. Hopefully the guy behind the plate is available for that game.

Lulz. I heard about what should have been a 3rd straight strikeout to end the bases loaded jamb, but the homerdome ump at your field couldn't allow a freshman to strike out 3 straight Riders.Red Rider;1143916 wrote:I definitely like your chances against Ashland at your field with your umpires. I see riverview beat you. Whats up with that? More bad umpiring?

Couple blunders in the field and on the base path, plus they had their aces available to use, while we just came off our games with you. (we played them Thursday night) so we threw a freshman the first 7 innings of a 7-7 game after 7 innings. No biggee in a non-conference game, plus we will get to see them come tny time, and I'm willing to bet the outcome is different.OFB;1144798 wrote:I see riverview beat you. Whats up with that? How did Norwayne beat you? More bad umpiring?

West Holmes mercies Mansfield Sr in five innings 10-0. JV score was 31-0. (whew, that Orrville vs Senior JV battle will be epic.)

We will use your excuse on the game we lost to Norwayne, we threw a pitcher that was 6th on our depth chart, it was our 4th game in a row that week. He has not pitched since then. As far as I am concerned umpiring has not cost us any games, poor execution and timely hitting has cost us those games.

But you did the right thing....throw the low level guys in non-conference games. WH has played 2 games already this week and will play Hiland tomorrow night and a DH with Garaway on Sat. Need our guns for Ashland next week, so we will pitch by committee this weekend, as those games mean nothing except a higher seed come tny time.
Looks like the league champ(s) will be determined next week.

Red, we do have the best 1-2 starters in the league to match up with Ashland. All comes down to who can put the ball in play and make plays on defense. Small ball might be on display in both games.
Thanks for the kind words too!

Both pitchers were as billed in this one. Line score was the following......
WH 0-3-2
Ashland 2-2-2
You had to be there to witness the home plate umpire. It was so bad the head coach for Ashland had a little convo with him after the 6th inning on a called 3rd strike. It didn't have an outcome in the game, but he was HORRIBLE for both teams.......geesh.

if its the same one we had last year the strike zone was armpits to shoelaces, kids didn't have a clue what to swing at. you teach them plate discipline and you get a bozo who makes a good pitcher look like Cy Young

Short little butterball...older fella. He made tough pitchers even tougher with his strike zone. And that was his zone.....ridernation;1151970 wrote:if its the same one we had last year the strike zone was armpits to shoelaces, kids didn't have a clue what to swing at. you teach them plate discipline and you get a bozo who makes a good pitcher look like Cy Young
