I'm not saying it's a bad thing that he waited this long, but I gotta believe he's known where he was truly going to go for some time, but just wanted to play this out as long as he could. Idk how anyone, let alone a UK fan, can say this was not him and his camp creating this drama.
Agreed. The college basketball season officially begins in less than five months (give or take a couple of days), and he has yet to make his decision. He's the only Top 100 player left who has yet to commit, and likely the only player in the entire class. Let's get serious. No matter whether he has been quiet and seemingly modest about his recruitment, on a deeper level, he has been soaking this shit up for every last second that it is worth. It's almost summer for god sake. Just say where you are going. Bottom line, he deliberately waited this long so that all eyes were on him when he made his decision.
While I still think he has given Wichita closer consideration than many would probably believe, the reason he won't decline the invitation from UK is because the kid wants to be the center of the college basketball universe next season, and, as good as he is, that wouldn't happen at a mid-major program in the middle of nowhere in Kansas. He won't pass up the attention he'll get in Lexington.
