Noel is in 2012.

I'm obviously still excited with the possibility that UK might add Nerlens Noel, Shabazz Muhammad and Anthony Bennett to the 2012 class.

As for 2013, love the game the Harrison twins bring to the table. Jabari Parker is obviously a stud. It's a nice class.

The Duke Blue Devils in the fall received a commitment from the most heralded shooter in the class of 2013, Matt Jones out of Texas. At six-four, he's the fourth-rated shooting guard in his class and his three-point jumper has generated comparisons to Andre Dawkins and J.J. Redick. Redick is obviously as high praise as it gets for a college shooter, but if Jones brings to Durham an ability to stretch the defense that even remotely resembles that of Dawkins', he'll carry the torch of prominent Blue Devil outside scorers very well.

Jones is a recruit I'm especially excited over as Duke will be losing three excellent three-point shooters in Dawkins, Seth Curry and Ryan Kelly following next season and will need somebody to help bridge that gap.

Noel reclassified to 2012, which means he will be playing college ball next season.

Meh. There are probably only 5-6 top 50 players uncommitted for 2012 at this point.

Granted, 2 of them are the top 2 players overall, but 2013 is definitely a lot more wide open.

5 of the top 50 in 2013 are from Illinois. It will be a huge chance for the new coach at Illinois.

^Maybe Bruce Weber can steal all five before the end of the Big Ten Tournament and save his job.

Recruiting nowadays is a 4 year effort anyway. I doubt a new coach at a new school can make much headway with the 2013 class. Those kids have relationships with coaches for about 2 years already.

Sounds like Renardo Sidney all over again. However, Shabazz won't waste any time. If he's got eligibility issues, he's gone overseas or will sit out and enter the 2013 NBA Draft.

What's worse, is they took place 2-3 years ago. It's interesting that the NCAA would issue a statement on someone who isn't even enrolled in an NCAA institution yet...

That surely won't stop Cal and World Wide Wes from recruiting the kid!! May even enhance their chances since others will probably back off!

I don't know. I think it puts them in a tough situation. Many feel if he were to come to UK, it could end up being a mistake knowing the NCAA already issued a warning. I can see it now. The NCAA clears him in the next few months. He comes to UK. They then find something else to rule him ineligible all over again after his career is over and it's UK on the hook.

Like Derrick Rose all over again, but this time with the clearance coming with an announcement and publicly. For those who don't believe in the bias, you can insert any school's name into where I put "UK" above. That won't stop schools from recruiting him I bet. If I had to bet as well, he won't end up at Kentucky. They could still add Amile Jefferson, Anthony Bennett, Nerlens Noel and possibly see any combo of Terrence Jones, Marquis Teague, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Doron Lamb come back.

We'll see...

The NCAA saw Kansas was recruiting him, and decided to let them know BEFORE 2 months into practice....

This thread is going to heat up in the next few months after the Tournament concludes.

Nerlens Noel is down to three, Kentucky, Syracuse and Georgetown. He and his family met with John Calipari this morning. He will still visit Syracuse for his final visit.

Shabazz Muhammad is going to pick a school either April 9th or 10th, according to Adam Zagoria. It appears UCLA is the favorite at this time, but everything in this recruitment has always been very close to the chest.

Noel suddenly eliminated Carolina after saying that he would take a visit. Not sure what happened.

I think he's going to Lexington though. Gonna be a great get for Calipari to replace Davis.
