Disappointing loss, as it appeared the Bucks just weren't ready to play. IMO, they looked out of synch in their halfcourt offense, and impatient in their shot selection. My biggest concern, though, is that we don't seem to be getting any better as the season progresses. Since the Indiana game at VCA, we've consistently struggled to find any continuity over the course of an entire game. If this were the beginning of the season, one could make a case for the inconsistency, but we're 25 games in, and we seem to be digressing. JMO.

The Buckeyes shot 26% from the field as the Big Three combined to miss 30 of 39 shots (23%). Sparty hit just 40% on the night but it was more than enough as they hit seven more FG's than OSU and punished them in the paint posting a 30-12 edge.
The 26% shooting effort was Ohio State's worst at home in 15 seasons.

While the cold shooting was tough to watch, the complete lack of composure and poor decision making for long stretches was even worse. Teams are allowed to have a bad outing but this felt like it was a level worse than that.

Not much to say about this loss. You aren't going to beat a womans team shooting 25%. Give MSU some credit, they played great defense. But even at that, OSU missed wide open looks. You tell me you hold Appling to 7 turnovers, 0 assist, and Green to 5-16 shooting before the game...I say OSU wins by double digits. OSU defense was good. Offense was horrid. Frustrating game. I said before season this was a 5/6 loss team. Major weakness in perimeter shooting was quite obvious last nite.
We'll see what this team is made up now. I am confident they will bounce back.

OSU is a very good team, but they don't have the leadership like they did last year. Last year, they were the best team in college basketball, but they played like shit and got beat by Kentucky. This year, they are very good, but I just don't see them as anything more than a sweet sixteen team.

Random thoughts about the game....Ted Valentine is absolutely terrible. I honestly think he believes that people are there to watch him. OSU couldn't play any worse if they tried, so I am not worried about that game. And lastly, this team needs to find it's leader...even though they are talented, they are def missing "that guy".

Do you really believe leadership had anything to do with shooting 25% in a game? How was that leadership in games vs Duke and Florida? It is what it is...OSU played poorly on offense. MSU had something to do with that, OSU did as well. They didn't execute on the offensive end. Sorry, I don't buy into the leadership or lack thereof stuff. Last year, OSU had SENIORS in Lighty and Diebler. Yes, great leaders. But it had more to do with their experience than anything in games like last nite. Nothing rattled them having been through what they had for 4+ yrs.
This OSU team is good, no question. But they have their deficiencies such as perimeter shooting. Sullinger and Craft can't do it all every game. In past games, someone has stepped up when needed. Last nite, that didn't happen. Yes, they got frustrated, they didn't have good poise, they were not patient on offense.
25% shooting is almost unheard of. A poor nite at his level is 35-40%. 25% is just sick(in a bad way!). And despite that, OSU actually still had a chance.
OSU still in first place in toughest conference in country and still sitting at 21-4. Not too shabby.

Not sure it means much one way or the other. He obviously had to try to make things happen seeing that Buford and Thomas were not. For that matter, no one else but Sully. I thought Craft played very well last nite. He was the lone bright spot. He forced Appling into 7 turnovers. He made the one guy off MSU bench look foolish at times trying to handle the ball. He coulda had a number of asst. had someone/anyone knocked down a shot.

Rather have a performance like this in February than in March...

I do habe a problem with not developing some length off of the bench in the name of Amir Williams.IMO, Ravenel brings very little to the floor.Williams was reasonably effective when OSU needed him at South Carloinia, but his time since then has been garbage time.

That's why I asked, 'cause I wasn't sure if it was a coincidence or not. I think it's great when he's aggressive to the basket and creating opportunities for his teammates, but it just seems like when he has a good game in the scoring column, the Buckeyes either lose or barely win. It just seems odd is all.

Completely irrelevant loss. How many times are we going to shoot 25%? The only good defense from MSU was the defense they played on Sully. They didn't beat us because of defense, they beat us because we couldn't buy a bucket and they could.

As Buckeyes fans, we should have learned our lesson from last season that the regular season doesn't mean anything. The ONLY thing that matters is the tourney.
