He gets more opportunities than anyone and big money fights. Jacare or Tim Kennedy could have gotten that number one fight with Vitor and Chael could have fought some other 205'er.
If Chael was half as good as fighting as he is at running his mouth, he's be a 2 division champ. He's still riding the "i dominated silva for 24 minutes" bus. The problem is 185 is weak.

He certainly runs his mouth all the time and gets fights he doesn't deserve. However, he is still a top 6-7 MW. His record looks bad because he has lost to beasts (Jones/Evans) at 205.

It was weak, not anymore imo. Better than it ever has been with all the new additions.

I had to go back and look to see who was at 185. I thought a bunch of them fought in other divisions. I thought Mousassi was 205 and Kennedy was 170.

I think Hunt will destroy Nelson. Anyone top level or with decent striking has, Hunt has more than decent striking.

Anyone see the "UFC Embedded" web series they did before UFC 173? I thought it was really cool, as it was a mix of UFC Primetime and Dana White's video blogs. Obviously these things are produced and edited by the UFC, so you only see exactly what they want you to see.

A few interesting things:

Hendo brought Cormier Popeye's chicken while he was cutting weight as a joke.
Dana White got a call from the Palms banning him from playing cards because he was winning so much. He was talking to another UFC employee about how that is third casino to ban him. He was super proud.
Cormier went to meet Cain's team on TUF. They were joking about how no one invited Rockhold and he just showed up and acted like he was a coach.

At the weigh in Hendo told Cormier that he had some chicken on his mouth. Cormier laughed and called him a fucking asshole. Pretty funny if you ask me.

Yeah Hendo and Cormier are two guys who really appreciate and respect each other. Mainly because they have the same backgrounds and one has already done so much and the other is starting his own path.

Hunt vs Nelson will be fun. They are two of my favorite heavyweights to watch fight because of how quick they can finish someone. Don't sleep on Nelson though he has a good ground game if he choose to take the fight to the mat.

There's actually two events. UFC fight night Miocic vs Maldonado on fox sports 1. And another fight night Munoz vs Mousasi on fight pass. The Munoz fight should be a good one.

CB Dollaway with a top ten win, Gegard Mousasi absolutely schooled Mark Munoz, might be time for Mark to think about coaching or something.

Stipe stops Fabio in under a minute, shows the difference between power at 205 and HW.

Or rather the difference between a top-10 guy and an unranked guy.

True, but Maldonado ate bombs from Glover Texeira without much problem, who hits like a truck at 205.

I think it's mostly the weight class difference as well. Maldonado is a tough dude and he went down quickly.

That's the first time he has ever been stopped like that, Glover put a beating on him and it ended up as a doctors stoppage. 240 lb athletic golden gloves champion, yeah Stipe hits hard.

And yet Nelson ate Struve's shots like nothing haha. Something in that first exchange happened to Fabio. His legs didn't really wobble but he covered up like he broke his orbital or jaw or something. Either way, good for Stipe making quick work of him, and hopefully he can get a big fight next.

All chins aren't created equal, but even Roy Nelson has been knocked out by Arlovski.
