Dana said Rousey is the biggest star the UFC has ever had.

Guess he forgot about Brock, Liddell, GSP, Silva, and Ortiz...

I could see his argument against those names...

Brock didn't last long enough (he was a bigger star though while he was there)
Liddell had his career dominance end right when MMA really took off
GSP I don't think was as popular in America as he was in Canada
Silva while popular wasn't an American born star like Rousey and many people flat out disliked him
Ortiz was big but the sports wasn't as big back then

I think other stars you could in clued on your list our Faber Randy couture and Forest Griffin. If both would have won more they could have easily passed by Rousey.

I think currently Jon Jones surpasses Rousey. I would put Cain right there with her as the biggest stars. Dana would probably argue though that those guys aren't getting the calls from Hollywood that Rhonda is.

Can't wait for tomorrow night, two of the most skilled guys in the world. Very dangerous fight for both Machida and Mousasi.

I was expecting a very back and forth fight between Machida and Mousasi as robj exclaimed above.

I never would have thought Machida would completely outclass him for most of the fight. Mousasi had a few moments but they were just that, few.

Machida looks like a machine at 185.

He has a better chance against Weidman than Belfort IMHO.

Lyoto looked very fast and smooth, also very powerful. Some of those shots would have knocked anyone else out, Gegard had a tremendous chin. I thought it was a great technical fight with a ton of skill on display. That headkick he landed in the second round was viscous. He seems to be more aggressive at 185 as well. I think he is a very tough match up for Weidman but him vs Vitor would be awesome as well.

Jacare looks tough as well, it's good to see MW finally get some new blood.

Thoughts on Melendez going to Bellator? I know it's not finalized, but I didn't see that one coming at all. Fights with Chandler/Alvarez would be nice though.

Jacare, Belfort, Weidman, Machida...MW suddenly looks like a very deep weight class where just 2 years ago it was the "weakest" (top heavy and no one else).

Alvarez is probably leaving for the UFC after the rematch with Chandler. I guess you have to do what's best for your career but Gil seemed so adamant about proving he was the best in the world in the UFC. IF he goes to Bellator he can fight Chandler who is world class but who after that? I hope the UFC matches and retains him.

Yeah the fresh blood has made it into a killer division. I wouldn't mid seeing Lyoto and Jacare matched up on the Weidman/Vitor card. Only problem is they are both injured and may not be ready by May.

Pretty sure since he is retired, he won't be fighting.

I will probably be going, I've gone to all the other Ohio UFC events.

I don't think Rich is officially retired. I think he wants one more fight.

Rousey might go down in this one. Facing a silver medalist in Olympic wrestling.

I have said Rousey would lose this fight if it ever happened, back in this thread some time ago!

not much excitement for the card tonight? I think this wrestler matches up with Rousey a lot better than Tate. Still doubt she wins, obv...but should be a better fight. Also pulling hard for Cummins. Really think he has a shot.

Also my roommate and I have been looking for an event close to Ohio for along time. Was pretty pumped when I saw the cinci event announced...but the card sucks so far. Bummed and not really interested.

Hoping for a action packed and competitive card, think Rousey is on another level than McMcann though in her complete MMA game. Rousey is a bad ass.

I couldn't justify buying the card so I was going to watch it on the comp and it appears to be much harder than it was last time I did it. Ha so looks like I'm just going to have to see the results on the comp.
