I would love to see Diaz beat GSP but I'm doubtful. I think he has more than a 5 % chance though. I just hope it helps set up GSP/Silva so I can watch GSP get beat.

Not too many people beat down anyone he's fought. GSP makes his opponents look minor league compared to him. He beat up Penn, Hughs, Fitch, Alves (with a torn hamstring), Koscheck, and Condit. Not to mention he made guys Shields and Hardy look stupid for even being in the ring. Everyone has the tools to beat him, but no one has come close in a very long time, I just don't see it happening. I want Diaz to win, but I think it'll look just like Henderson vs Diaz.

GSP is too experienced to allow that to happen.

Yeah, if he didn't let Kos get in his head despite having to listen to him talk trash throughout the entire filming of TUF, I doubt he'll let Nick get in his head for this fight. He's obviously pissed, but I have a feeling it'll be more of a cold rage instead of a "pissed off, lose all control" sort of thing.

Shields won two rounds against him standing and sent GSP to the Hospital, Penn arguably won the first fight but got killed in the second fight. I would give Nick a 20-25% chance of winning. I thought Condit had a decent shot to win if he has the aggressor, which he was not, he went backwards the entire fight. Nick is constant pressure, and I think that is the best way to beat GSP. Pressure him constantly on the feet and hit him, GSP doesn't like to be hit. GSP is going to take Nick down and Diaz is fine with that, he has the best guard of anyone GSP has fought and is very active. Maybe he can catch him off his back, maybe not, but he needs to make GSP work constantly. I just hope it's a great fight, I think if anyone can break GSP it's Nick, because I can promise you that Nick won't break physically or mentally, he will make it a fight the entire time he is in there. I don't see a GSP finish but the most likely is a grind out decision, hopefully Nick can change that.

Yeah GSP is super professional, I think Nick may bring the best out of him with all the animosity.

I think being bigger, faster, and stronger will play a huge role too. I'm tired of GSP being the champ so i'm all for him losing, but I don't think a guy who can't stuff his take downs is going to be the one to do it. I honestly think Ellenberger and Hendricks have better chances because they hit hard and have good take down defense. Hendricks reminds me of Chuck, great power and great defensive wrestling to keep the fight standing.

Since it's in a few days what are everyones picks? I'm going GSP, Condit, and Marquardt. While I'd like all three of the other guys to win, I think this will be the result.

No one in that division can stop GSP's take downs, he is too explosive and his timing is too good, not even Ellenberger or Hendricks.

I would rate BJ's guard better than Diaz.

Maybe, but I still give them a better shot of keeping the fight standing

Hendricks is a 2 time NCAA National Champion wrestler he might be able to stop some takedowns

Hendricks is the only man at WW that I think has a good shot at beating GSP. There are plenty that have a "shot" like Diaz, Condit, Marquardt, etc. But Hendricks TD defense and his power makes him SCARY for anyone.

I like Hendricks a lot too, like someone said above, reminds me of Liddell and the mentality of sprawl and brawl.

Hendricks would beat GSP in a wrestling match no doubt, but GSP's MMA wrestling is far superior, Hendricks is the same guy who got bullied by Rick Story and arguably lost to Mike Pierce, I also though Koscheck beat him. Now we have no idea how good Hendrick's bottom game is but GSP wouldn't stand with him, he would take him down, 2 time NCAA champ or not.

Normally his fights are exciting up until about the 3rd round or so, then it gets to the point where he isn't necessarily trying his hardest to finish his opponent, and the opponent isn't good enough to threaten him from the bottom or get back to their feet and make it a fight. I think Nick has those tools, he won't break mentally ever and he has the best cardio in all of MMA most likely.

Just to clarify, I'm not hating on Hendricks, hell of a fighter with vicious power. There are just a lot of unknowns about his game still. Reminds me more of a Dan Henderson, doesn't necessarily use his wrestling offensively, just tries to knock people out.

GSP has already taken down quite a few accomplished wrestlers. It is a lot more difficult to defend a takedown with the threat of being punched in the face.

I will say that Koscheck was just as decorated as Hendricks and definitely more athletic as an NCAA wrestler. GSP made Koscheck look like a HS wrestler in their match.

GSP's MMA wrestling is off the charts.

GSP hasn't finished a fight in 4 years and that finish was BJ not coming out in the 5th. If he wasn't fighting Nick I wouldn't be interested, he's Capt. Decision. I would love to see Hendricks KO Condit.

Anyone watch the press conference? It's the Nick Diaz show lol. No one else needed to show up.

Nick is legit crazy, GSP hushed up quickly about having it bad when Nick talked about how he grew up. Never seen GSP actually get pissed, he legitimately wants to hurt Nick.

lol he sounds like he wants the attention GSP gets, then he says he doesn't give a fuck. He's constantly going off on tangents and contradicting himself. Then he accused GSP of being on the roids haha. That was a great press conference. You know Dana is just thinking "this fucking guy is nuts and is going to make me a lot of money!"
