I stand by my opinion that OSU won regardless of Buford

I stand by my opinion that OSU won without being affected either way by Bufords performance.

Just so it was easier for you to understand, instaed of using despite, I used its definition in the above two sentences

On a SIDE NOTE, Urban Meyer was introduced at half time. He then introduced his family, and the new football staff. Fickell got a HUGE ovation from the crowd. It was very cool. His wife was sitting close, and she started to cry.
On a funny note, Gene Smith, coming out to intro Meyer, was BOO'd BIG time! I almost felt bad for him. Not really. ;)

I'll just stop for you so the hole you've dug doesn't collapse on you.

Really good to hear Fickell get a big ovation from the crowd. I like the guy, he's been nothing but class throughout this whole ordeal.

Regarding Smith, there's no way he should be employed by OSU anymore.

Apparently, Crean kept the media waiting for some time before finally showing up. I guess he does this with some regularity. Reporters who cover IU told a reporter for the O-Zone that he kept them waiting more than an hour after their last loss.

Guy just strikes me as a total prick. Which is okay...IU is used to employing people like that. :D

You can spin that stuff any way you want. Thad Matta blew off Don Fisher today before the game on the IU Radio network. Was scheduled to be on, said he would be on, then walked over and said I cant.

I also waited 55 minutes for Bo Ryan up in Madison once, after a win of around 20 pts lol.

I think Crean can be really forward in his ways, and it comes off as very immature and sometimes like a bitch. But if you get to know him, he is very genuine and has nothing but praise when talking about others. Same for Ryan, Izzo, Matta and DeChellis. Only guy who didnt (0f the 6 coaches Ive ever gotten to deal with), and it was proven to be true, was Sampson.

Tom has appeared to be a little petulant at times (handshakes I guess) but however long it takes for someone to get their head straight in order to say the right things is fine with me. It all goes terribly wrong like the X/Cinci game if you don't.

I think itll take 5 Matt Roth 3 pointers today for IU. If he gets that, they have a shot no matter what. If not, its gonna take a minor miracle.
Win by the 3 die by the 3.

Get better? Tough to get much better when your point total will put you in the Top Five in Ohio State history. The top six now are Dennis Hopson, Herb Williams, Jerry Lucas, Kelvin Ransey and JJ, they were "scorers". They were THE #1 options on their teams. They almost always led their team in scoring. William Buford is just one of the first three options on this TEAM.

Buford is not, nor can he be a "scorer". He doesn't have the personality or mentality. Buford will have games when he is "on" and can score 20 something and it's a thing of beauty. When he's "on" I don't think I've seen a smoother player in my life. "Scorers" are players like Duane Wade. There's nothing "smooth" about Wade. He'll score 40 points to beat you. He's an assassin, he'd slit your throat to win a game, that's not Buford. You can not change a player's personality. "Scorers" score 20+ points all the time and take the shots to do it. Think about it, on this TEAM Buford is a 14-16 point guy, NOT a "scorer'. Over his career in Big Ten play Buford has not had that many 20 point games.

Be happy Buford is who he is, be thankful that Buford is a Buckeye.

I don't--you reap what you sow.

Also, after watching Crean numerous times now, I wonder--does he have Tourette's Syndrome? He's makes the weird faces, along with a lot of nervous tics, both which are signs of the affliction. Or is this just the way he is?

Ha. No, I just think he is that intense on the sideline. The only guy I have seen with that much energy, that intense on the sideline, was Gary Williams. I think he is a big whinner on the sideline. But I give the guy credit, he never stops coaching, no matter what the score is. He never shows his team anything but being positive and upbeat.
The thing after the game about keeping the press waiting, no big deal IMO. Coaches are going to do what they have to do after the game with their team, that is #1 priority. The press is WAY down on that list. ;)

Think I predicted 87-60 so i wasnt too far off. It is apparent that OSU is a much better team than IU, and in a 10 game stint on neutral floors IU wins maybe 2, but most likely 1.

IU is getting there. No way are they are top 10 team. Top 25? Probably, but they will have to show it by winning on the road. I think IU is vulnerable to teams who can bring pressure because they have anough guys who arent that athletic..i.e. white. Good defenders will be able to shut down those outside three's. Olidipo, Watford and Jones need to be athletic and make plays toward the hoop so Hulls and Zeller and such can make more plays.

Best case scenario for IU this year is sweet 16 and that only will happen if they dont falter down the stretch and can get a decent seed. I am just stating what i am seeing.

A good team. A team that has surprised many people, and are getting closer to where they need to be. I am just guessing but I am thinking in 3 years that IU team will run roughshed over the current one. Many IU fans, myself included, are pretty giddy over this team. I am more of a realist and ealize they arent as good as their ranking was. The schedule was sisters of the poor weak coming into the Big10. They did beat UK and OSU so that shows that they have talent and can compete, but just not on a nightly basis.

This game ended up pretty much as I expected. Though I didn't expect Smith to go off like that. Buford still seems to have his head up his ass. Hopefully he gets straightened out soon. He makes too many dumb decisions for a senior.

Did not know that! Where was Hopson from? I know JJ was from the now defunct Macomber. Family friend was the football coach up there, maybe the AD too, I forget, and he introduced me to JJ when he was in incoming frosh and it was good to see him excel. I always thought he passed too much though!

Hopson played at Bowsher, and as you said, JJ played at Macomber (as did Ransey)...btw, who's the friend of the family that coached football--is his initials JJ as well??
