No local head coaches are in the pool of 11 finalists for this job.

It's a known commodity the toxic environment McK is and it's such a shame. Some of the greatest talent our area has ever seen are Bulldogs. It says a lot when people wanted to fire Thom McDaniels in the midst of them winning back to back state titles. What is any coach going to do differently that will appease the fan base?

You just have to ask why?

Of course Joyce said no....He's at St. V.

The OHSAA wouldn't allow him to heve free reign at McKinley.

My guess is he'll get "offered" the job, but with no teaching position tied to it and turn it down...opening the door for Craig Coleman (a McK grad with connections) to step in and take the job.
Honestly I have heard this situation and agree with it most.... Filtz SHoULD get the job... Will he we shall see... I know I haven't commented on this in a long while and this is my team and my alma mater....I have just been so tired of trying to keep up with all the BS that is going on... They say Johnson has divided the community and that was a reason to get rid of him but the community is divided more now than it was before. This is ridiculous and as an alumni of McK I'm tired of everyone in stark county and the state of Ohio laughing at us. It's ridiculous... Who cares if we have a white or black coach all we need is a winner... I for one didn't like RJ's X and O's but he was great with academics.... I believe the best fit for us is Filtz and if he doesn't get it then you know the whole thing smells awfully fishy.

Board meeting tonight. Canton Rep's Todd Porter thinks it's Filtz. Culliver and Tyrell have been informed that they were not selected as a finalist. It's down to Filtz and Craig Coleman.

Just last week Porter hypothesized that Filtz was the most qualified, but wouldn't get the job because Coleman was better connected in the community and was a McK grad.

It's official according to Friday night Ohio that Todd Filtz will indeed be the next(and youngest in history) coach if the Canton McKinley Bulldogs

It's Todd Filtz. Let the healing begin hopefully. A young & accomplished coach with background at an inner city program. The most qualified candidate from day 1.

With Filtz going to the Bulldogs as the coach, how long before Keenan takes over the Superintendent job, considering the guy in there is just a temp?
