If you want to get rid of them, hit up this fellow Wayne Countian (not for the preseason game though) :thumbup:Mr Miyagi;1244537 wrote:I missed the game tonight but will catch the replay tomorrow on STO. Ok since everyone thinks Shumur is pretty much gone who should be available next year for the browns to go after. Are there any up and coming candidates on the steelers or eagles staff that may have an inside shot.

Didn't even know momass was out. What a pussy bitch. Also Maivia has sucked ass for a long time now, the fact that he's still on the team shows the lack of depth.

If Schwartz & Lauvao don't get their shit together, Weeden, McCoy and Wallaca/Lewis won't last the season. Right side of that O-Line was BAD. Now do I think they might have looked a little different on offense with T-Rich in there? Sure, but you still have to protect your QB.
I saw some good things from Weeden. Stretched the field and threw a few nice balls. The pick 6 that was dropped was just a HORRIBLE pass. The interception wasn't the greatest decision but that one was just as much on Little as Weeden. Little had both hands on that ball. Tough catch? Yes, but can't give up on the ball.
Saw McCoy for one series and he bailed himself out a few times with his feet. Still a lot of checkdowns but the O-Line was just looking REALLY bad.
Loved what I saw from Travis Benjamin & Jordan Cameron. Josh Gordon & Greg Little were "ghosts" to me in that I didn't even notice them (except for the Weeden pick). MoMass...nice catch...SMH on your China Doll Syndrome
The run defense is a fucking abortion. Would've been interesting to see them with Rubin, Taylor & DQ in there but it wouldn't surprise me if the outcome would've been the same. Browns just seem snakebit against defending the run. If they don't do something about the run D, the pass D will be top 3 in that nobody will have to throw, AGAIN.
Speaking of throw....STILL no pass rush from the limited action I saw.
All in all, the 1's have a lot of work to do. Only his first preseason game but VERY disappointed in the performance of Mitchell Schwartz. Had heard nothing but glowing reviews about this guy. And Weeden been get this "take my shots/experiment" shit, with the high risk passes, out of his system REAL quick or the McCoy supporters will be chanting his name. Hell, there's already a thread by some douchebag on the OBR screaming for McCoy to get his shot with the 1's.

Typical Browns. Glad to see Brady Quinn errrrrrrrrrr I mean Brandon Weeden go a fantastic 3-9 while terrible awful Colt McCoy went 6-8 STOP DRAFTING QBS that are not top performers in the first round they could have a got a 3-9 guy in the 5th round.

What's the difference between that and posters here anointing Weeden to be our savior after reading a few articles about his performance at camp?BR1986FB;1244594 wrote:Hell, there's already a thread by some douchebag on the OBR screaming for McCoy to get his shot with the 1's.
Is it fair for me to be negatively dramatic about this game just as people were positively dramatic about how good this team was after the draft and reading a few off season articles? I could spout off shit about how I told you guys so about weeden, etc just as Shook was making snide remarks about how "certain posters" didn't like the weeden pick, because he was getting his panties in a bunch over what he was doing to the second team defense lol.
Anyway, I won't be that guy. Instead I will LOL at some of these posts after 1 PRESEASON game. Not really surprise to see Iggy turn coat and already call for a new coach and regime btw lol.
Let's be honest here, there were a lot of guys getting their first NFL action. No reason to QQ about it. I am not one who thinks this team will do great, but to panic after the performance of the starters is just dumb. Let these guys get a couple games in and adjust to NFL speed. I honestly don't see JT allowing the line to be that bad during the regular season. Weeden, although still not a fan of the pick, it was the guy's first NFL start, and he definitely was experimenting with what he could get away with. He earned a quick lesson. Don't forget the Bengals got their asses waxed by the lions in their first preseason game last year, and everyone was saying how they would only win 1 game after that performance...
Also Shook, I don't know what you are trying to imply about Haden, but I wouldn't look too much into it. They wouldn't keep him off the field because of his pending suspension lol.

Go away...McCoy got 20+ starts to prove himself. I'd like to see more than 9 passes from Weeden before passing judgment. Your post is a joke. Brady Quinn? Really? From iggy going off about the coach and front office to this dick wad bitching about weedon and can find a qb in the 5th round that goes 3-9. It really wouldn't be a browns thread with out it lol. But seriously it's preseason. No reason to freak out. Weedon made some good throws and he made some bad decisions. Now the key is that weedon doesn't make those same mistakes over and over. I was surprised to see ( not see ) Gordon be non existent. But it is his first game in a year and a half. Benjamin looked good though

why not? try and get the other guys as ready as they can or to see if they can't cut and it and need to make a trade or sign a vetern db. makes senselike_that;1244632 wrote:What's the difference between that and posters here anointing Weeden to be our savior after reading a few articles about his performance at camp?

You have to think also that in the opener against Philly the team will/could look a lot better by having DQ, Rubin, possibly Haden on D and having Trent in the backfield...like others have said its the freakin first preseason game for a lot of these guys so they're going to make mistakes, just have to learn from them. Remember how good Colt and the O looked in the preseason last year and people were picking the Browns to be where the Bengals ended up? It's preseason for a reason and I'm confident Weeden, TRich, Schwartz, Gordon and Benjamin will be fine

lol'd. Pretty much spot on what our Cleveland threads are. Iggy's doom and gloom posts are the best as always.
Solid point, although I highly doubt they would sign or trade a guy this late to fill in for Haden for the first 4 weeks. I am hearing he has a good case and won't be suspended anyway.shook_17;1244688 wrote:why not? try and get the other guys as ready as they can or to see if they can't cut and it and need to make a trade or sign a vetern db. makes sense
+1. The best the offense looked last season was the first preseason game lol. It obviously didn't mean shit. I'd rather the team have an upward trend from preseason game 1 than a downward trend like last season.zach24oz;1244696 wrote:You have to think also that in the opener against Philly the team will/could look a lot better by having DQ, Rubin, possibly Haden on D and having Trent in the backfield...like others have said its the freakin first preseason game for a lot of these guys so they're going to make mistakes, just have to learn from them. Normally this would be true. But seriously it's preseason. No reason to freak out.
However, you could run last night's game tape against any game from last year and it was the same shit (penalties, unorganized, piss poor run D, God awful O-lin play, Shurmur's bullshit) over and over with a few new faces.
When you have an entire off-season (which the coaching staff was QQing about not having last year) and still look unready to play it is disheartening.

I wasn't a real fan of picking Weeden at #22...thought he would have slipped to 37. After watching last nite, meh. Everything about his selection and annointing as starter after 10 practices screams desperation.
Yeah, yeah yeah,....I'll give him some time...what other choice do I have.

Same here. I hated the pick, but I will hold judgment for awhile
