Lerner is not the worst owner in Cleveland, but not the best, Dolan should sell first.

Jimmy Haslam is 81 fucking years old, and the predominate donor to U Tenn. He moves the team I'll never watch another NFL game.

July 27, 2012Full statement from Randy Lerner:
“In connection with current rumors and press inquiries, I can report that I’ve been approached by Mr. Jimmy Haslam, who is interested in making an investment in the Cleveland Browns. We are currently in negotiations and both sides have agreed to keep that dialogue and its details private. Given that any transaction would require League approval, care has been taken so that this process will not be disruptive to the organization, in particular the football team, as it prepares for the upcoming season. We will share further details or make an announcement if it becomes necessary.”

Correction...

Correction - It's Jimmy Haslam III - he's 55 & partial investor in Steelers looking to change sides

This guys owns a minority stake in the Steelers, and is an admitted Steelers fan.

And for the record, it was initially stated the this guys wanted to invest in the Browns, Shefter and Rizzo took that to mean buy.

Fuck this guy.

Lerner won't sell the team if he is going to move them. I wouldn't mind it but the fact he is 81 years old kind of scares me

He's 55, not 81. The initial info was bogus.

DustinFox37 If you spend 900 million for a football team.. Pretty sure you become 900 million percent a #Browns fan.

Daryl Ruiter ‏@RuiterWrongFAN Those worried about the #Browns leaving w/ any potential sale - highly doubtful b/c of lease which is for 30 years & has 16 still left on it

Q. Before you became an investor, were you a Steelers fan?
A. No. I was actually originally a Dallas Cowboys fan and then an Indianapolis Colts fan.
Q. Are you a Steelers fan now, or is your relationship with the team more about business?
A. I am 1,000 percent a Steelers fan!

Sounds like a scumbag bandwagon POS.

He could just become a minority owner. I dont think you would have to worry about the NFL approving that, though. All signs to me think he is looking to buy the team.

Jesus...Dustin Fox just tweeted that if he buys the team his first call should be to Tressel. I'd puke.

Tony Grossi ‏@TonyGrossi I'm told the sale of #Browns would involve at least 90% of franchise. Jimmy Haslam might have other partners, but Lerner won't be one.

That's not even enough to buy the franchise. He better have partners.

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora Many believe sale of Browns from Lerner to Haslam could happen pretty quickly. Lingering issue is how Haslam's stake in Steelers resolved...
