Guarantee Weeden won't last to round 3 and highly doubt Jonathan Martin makes it to 55Commander of Awesome;1150037 wrote:I do not think Davi lasts until the second round.

God I'll be glad when all of this draft talk crap is over. Just got an XM radio so I imagine I'll be hearing a ton of it this week on NFL Radio during my commute.

I'm just excited for Thursday to get here. The draft always brings new topics of conversation, which keeps things fresh around here (something difficult to do when a thread is graced by Miyagi's stench).

What about the LB Zach Brown? How long is he projected to last? I would like to get a LB like him...has great speed, good size and would start right away. I'd think about taking him with the 2nd or 3rd pick. If you take him with your 2nd pick, you can still get a solid wr with your pick in the 2nd round.

He apparently has some character red flags, so his stock is likely mid-2nd at this point.zach24oz;1150167 wrote:What about the LB Zach Brown? How long is he projected to last? I'd love him at 37 though.

Don't get too excited. The tribe used their number one draft choices on Pomeranz and White. They're just prospects you know.BR1986FB;1150132 wrote:God I'll be glad when all of this draft talk crap is over. My guess is that we will trade TRich and Floyd for a proven guy like Jay Losman.

Brandon Weeden - QB - Player
After speaking with NFL executives, The Sideline View's Adam Caplan gets the "sense" that the Browns will target Oklahoma State QB Brandon Weeden at No. 37 rather than No. 22 overall.
Caplan confirms Cleveland has "spent a lot of time" on Weeden, including an April 2 visit to club headquarters. There is little doubt that the Browns are interested in drafting him, but it doesn't sound like they've deemed Weeden worthy of a first-round pick. Look for the Browns to select Trent Richardson at No. 4, the best receiver available at No. 22, and perhaps Weeden at 37.

Thank goodness we're not using one of our top 2 picks at least. Close your eyes, guys, I know some of you hate any mention of his name.

You're pretty high on yourself if you think you've finished anything... You continue to dig your hole even deeper. Also, I don't bring that garbage into other threads like you just did a few posts ago.Footwedge;1150267 wrote:I let it go every single day. the thing with weeden is that he is not a noticeable upgrade from colt mccoy (and he's older which makes it even worse) whereas selections at positions of rb, wr, ot, olb or de would be significant additions to the team's talent base going forward. browns just can't afford to waste even a third round pick on a qb just because they have so many holes elsewhereDr. KnOiTaLL;1150244 wrote:Thank goodness we're not using one of our top 2 picks at least. i think he is an upgrade. BUT now im leaning to grabbing another starter either defense or offense whatever they choose and IF THEY want weeden, they can trade back up. i still like weeden but after 37.dazedconfused;1150281 wrote:the thing with weeden is that he is not a noticeable upgrade from colt mccoy (and he's older which makes it even worse) whereas selections at positions of rb, wr, ot, olb or de would be significant additions to the team's talent base going forward. browns just can't afford to waste even a third round pick on a qb just because they have so many holes elsewhere

how pissed are you gonna be if what Peter King wrote comes to fruition? (our 2nd and 3rd to the Pats for #27 and we pick Weedon)
edit. I would not be happy

He can be an upgrade, but not a noticeable upgrade. Key word: noticeable. It would be ok if he was a young rookie, because he would have more upside. I don't see how much upside a 29 year old QB can have. He sure as hell isn't worth the pick if he isn't a significant upgrade.shook_17;1150308 wrote:i think he is an upgrade. Some of you guys are way too infatuated with his arm strength. If arm strength was any indicator of being a great QB, DA would still be starting for the Browns.

Very pissed, because 1. I don't want Weeden, and 2. I am getting sick of the Pats getting these ridiculous steals for deals.Mr Miyagi;1150316 wrote:how pissed are you gonna be if what Peter King wrote comes to fruition? (our 2nd and 3rd to the Pats for #27 and we pick Weedon)

No worries, Miyagi. It has nothing to do with your positions on various topics of interest. It has everything to do with the smell produced when using fresh cat in your won ton soup...Mr Miyagi;1150306 wrote:this quote is interesting considering we pretty much agree on everything in this thread and on the high school thread

Also a slight difference in Weeden & DA's completion % differential, almost 20%.like_that;1150317 wrote:He can be an upgrade, but not a noticeable upgrade. Key word: noticeable.
