LOL...he won't get fired. Who's going to fire him, the fans? I'm sure Holmgren will be all in on whatever Heckert does. He won't drop to the 3rd.

This.

Cue a few posters missing the exaggeration of your post.

I am not talking about fired right away lol, but that type of draft pick will eventually lead to him getting fired, because it will be a waste of pick that will set the team back even further.

Also, as I said earlier, if Holmgren really is going to leave, then he can go fuck himself as far as im concerned and gtfo with any input. Don't need that dipshit negatively affecting the team before he bolts.

Agreed.

This Tannenhill/Weeden bullshit needs to die, unless it's just decoy bullshit.

I don't understand the hate for Weeden. Is it just because he is 28? He is the most pro ready QB in the draft. (other than Luck) Guy can come in and start right now.

It's not so much the hate for him as it is other needs on the team. We have a pretty strong need at RT, RB, WR, OLB. With those first four picks, we could fill those holes with starters immediately. Weeden might be a good starter, but we need other areas to be filled immediately to help out the QB situation. With our line, receivers, and RB's Weeden wouldn't do shit.

Sure he is "NFL ready" but he's not that good...why would you waste your first round pick on a guy that will make you go 7-9 instead of 4-12? Why not go 4-12 and either a) draft your franchise QB w/ your first pick, probably 5-10 or b) bundle some picks and move up to take Barkley.

"NFL ready" is great and all if there is no ceiling to the QB's potential. Weeden will never be more than an average QB. No thanks.

Regardless of his age, he is not impressive to me. Why is he the most pro ready QB, because he is 28? I can turn that same question on you. But really, I don't get where people say he is the most pro ready QB lol.

If he was the most pro ready QB he would be considered a higher prospect than the other QBs.

"NFL Ready"....I remember that being tossed around about Failbiskie. Turned out means its a nice way of saying the kid can't play. No thanks on Weeden.

Ummm...QB is a "need" too.

If the rumored "trade down" happens, these holes WILL be filled and Weeden will have the weapons around him.

What Weeden brings to the table that the current QB does not is that threat to beat you over the top. So they draft T-Rich, a WR and a RT?....NOTHING will change with the offense if they stay the course at QB. Defenses will STILL load up the box to stop Richardson, dare McCoy to beat them down the field (which he WON'T do) and people will STILL be bitching about this "anemic offense." The SOONER they get that problem solved, the BETTER.

Well apparently Cam Newton & Andy Dalton were "NFL Ready" too and I think Weeden might be better than Dalton.

People want to bitch at this guys age and "it will take two to three years for him to be effective, blah, blah, blah". If I'm correct, he wrote the damn playbook for Oklahoma State's incoming offensive coordinator so he's no dunce.

NRTU but people just overvalue draft picks WAY too damn much.

This is a good idea, in theory, but I find it hard to believe that it will be H&H's mindset. I think they will have the "the sooner, the better they get the QB in place" attitude.

What if, by some miracle, the current QB gets the Browns to 6-10 this year? Not getting Barkley (which I'm not so sure he'd be the QB I'd target as I hear he has that Mark Sanchez "pussy" in him) if that happens.

The 2008 draft, 2009 draft, and the 14 wins the past 3 seasons disagree with u.

The Packers, Steelers, NY Giants, and Patriots disagree. Especially with the way the Browns are building through the draft, I'm not sure how you can even think this. If we're not going to get players through the draft, then where the hell are we going to get them? We HAVE (lol) to hit on draft picks, esp top picks.

It wouldn't be H&H's mindset if Matt Barkley came out and fell to the Browns at 4 this year. They'd just take him now. But they're not stupid, they know outside of Luck and RG3, they're not going to get their QB. Get out of here with that Weeden crap...Big 12 QBs are terrible, and the guy is 28 years old for christ sake.

Even at 6-10 they will be able to trade up to that #1 pick next year. At 6-10, they'll move up about 10 spots...they can offer their 2 Firsts next year and 2014 First..boom, Barkley. Even if they can't, there will be other emerging QB's, just like RG3 emerged this year. The guy from Washington comes to mind.

You're just buying into this "we have to win now or we're out of here" shit by H&H. That's not what they're saying lol

Imagine the meltdown if they take Weeden at 22? Not saying they will but it will be interesting to see. :D

You have already used this fail once, what makes you think it wouldn't be a fail again? No one gives a shit about you, but it doesn't mean we can't poke fun of your idiocy.
