First off Im a Cleveland fan for all sports and always will be but what just wondering about something from other Cleveland fans and Im sure Ill get the response of this is a football town and the Browns will always come first.

Ive heard many people say that they dont go to Cavs or Indians games because they make no moves or dont spend enough or dont win enough yet people will empty their wallets going to Browns games every year while putting the same crappy product on the field year after year. If you like football more then the other sports then thats fine but thats rarely the excuse I hear about not supporting the other teams.

I also understand that the Browns only have 8 home games compared to 81 for the Indians and 41 for the Cavs. At what point do the fans say enough is enough and stop spending their hard earned money to see the same horrible product put on the field and to think this is only Shurmurs first year.


Having a high draft pick is nice but Im sick and tired of this every year and want to see improvement and see more wins. Every year during preseason everyone gets excited then by week 7 we start talking about the draft already while the Steelers, Ravens and even the Bengals now are playing meaningful games while the Browns are still F'n terrible.

One more thing, Phil Taylor is an idiot and passing on 3rd and 1 when Hillis was running over guys all day makes Shurmur a moron.

I have had both Browns and Indians season tickets for 20 plus years and I support the teams win or lose. Why? ...Why not? I'm not a frontrunner.

Yeah, I get sick of the losing and that (in the Indians case) , the owner won't go the extra mile needed to take the team to the next level. I don't think that is a legitimate gripe against the Browns or the Cavs.

Im not a frontrunner either and I hate those type of fans actually. i hate when people make the excuse of not winning as to why they wont support the Indians or Cavs but have no problem with the Browns losing every year.

Go browns....I went to the bengals game today(dad had tickets from his company) and the stadium was half full. two teams in the playoff hunt, and you can't even fill the bottom bowl. Yeah, I'm glad I'm a browns fan.

I remember seeing a classmate a few days after the Chicago White Sox won the World Series wearing a brand spanking new White Sox hat. I think you had a lot of bandwagoners when the Tribe was hot in the mid/late '90's...and when LBJ was here.

I think every fan base is going to have the bandwagon fans when the team(s) are doing better. I still think the Cavs have a pretty good following still. Had good attendance last season, although much of that was blamed on the season tickets going on sale before Lebron left. I heard the Cavs home opener, against the Raptors is going to be sold out.

There was no need to be a bandwagonner for the 95 tribe nor the 08/09 Cavs. They were the best team those years.

The best team doesn.t allways win.

This is a football town. The reason you get it as a response is because it's true. The same reason Indiana basketball still gets more support than football, even though they were both terrible the last 2-3 years.

I can understand Lebron wanting out. It's a knife fight between Detroit and Cleveland for worse NBA cities.

Not every team can keep winning forever. Plus the Browns came back and they returned to #2 priority. Then LeBron got drafted and it moved to Browns, LeBron, Indians, Cavs.

Personally I'm not offended if there's no one at games if the product being shown isn't worth the admission price. At the end of the day, sports is entertainment, and entertainment costs money, and if the value of the entertainment doesn't come close to the cost, why the hell pay? Pretty simple economics if you ask me.

It seems the only team that appears competent right now, IMO, is the Cavs, because they didn't waste stupid amounts of their cap space on band-aids and temporary fixes. I refuse to attend a Browns or Indians game.

agree. Im not a baseball fan, so I cant really comment on the Indians. But the Cavs have an owner that is engaged and cares about the teams success. Cant say I can say the same about the Browns. Also, while the Cavs might not be very competitive (which I think they CAN be barring injuries), they still field a team that plays an entertaining style and always gives it their all. Once again, cant say the same about the Browns.

No salary cap in baseball is what fucked that up.

I was a baseball fan (Indians) until the salaries got out of control and MLB decided it didn't matter if 2/3 of the franchises weren't going to spend enough money to compete. When the ownership of the Tribe decided they won't spend, I decided not to follow baseball, anymore. And I haven't been to a game or watched one on TV since.

While I'm not much of an NBA fan, anymore, I would support the Cavs if I lived closer, just because I think Gilbert will do what it takes to get a winning team again. Not that the NBA is such a great product now that the players would rather all join a few winning teams than truly compete against one another. If that trend continues and the NBA doesn't fix it, the league is doomed to fail.

The Browns are a different creature than any of the others, in my opinion. At least they are for those of us who are old enough to remember when the REAL Browns were a great franchise and contended every year; pretty much before Modell bought the team and got himself into financial difficulty. Even despite his incompetence, they managed some great years in the 80s.

But everything post Kosar has pretty much sucked and this version of the team isn't anything close to what the Browns were for the first 25 years of their existence. I'm pretty jaded now, but still follow them hoping that, somehow, it will turn around and the franchise I fell in love with as a kid will somehow come back.

The odds are long and my apathy toward the team is much stronger than it used to be, so I guess we'll see which wins out first...

But the Browns are different (well they were) because being a Browns fan used to be an Ohio tradition that was passed along from father to son. In this age of every team being available to every fan via the Internet and satellite TV, I don't see that being the case, anymore.

Can't there be fans and also be people who enjoy watching winning sports? Don't franchises need both?

Not everyone is a fanatic yet some people still appreciate a good product.

It's not all or nothing. It never has been when it comes to sports audiences and it never will be.

How come Tampa Bay is doing alright without a salary cap. Idk how people can be such frontrunners though, as a Detroit sports fan it's been so incredible to see such success this year which makes it all the more sweet
