Almost has to be a communicable disease. His weight cut reportedly went fine, they don't test for steroids pre-fight to my knowledge, and he and Dana were always on good terms. Hepatitis would be something that not only forced him out of the fight, but the UFC(and likely MMA) completely.

can't believe he'd be released for anything other than PED's or HIV/HEP or some variation thereof.

I read on another message board that all UFC fighters were given PEDs tests a couple days ago and he failed and was retested and failed again. I would guess it would be something used to lose weight and mask steroids more then an actual steroid. I have also read where his managaement said he will be fighting again so I doubt it's a incurable disease.

That doesn't make sense though since it normally takes weeks to get those results back, his camp has already released a statement saying that it is not because of PED's or any diuretics. They also notified the UFC as early as monday of what it was. It must be something serious for Dana to strait up fire him like that. Hopefully not HIV or Hep b or anything.

Just read that it could be that he didn't fill out and turn in certain medical paperwork, not sure how a veteran of over 40 fights could make that mistake.

unbelievable fight between Nick Lentz and Charles Olivera until Olivera hits him with an obvious illegal knee and then slaps on the rear naked choke, can't believe the ref missed that.

That was unbelievable. Kongo has crazy resilience to survive that and then immediately KO Barry!

As for Marquardt, I saw comments by Dana on 411mania where he said he was disgusted by him and he'd never fight in UFC again. I have a feeling it's worse than staph, PEDs, a random disease, not filling out all his paperwork or whatever else people here have been guessing could be the reason...considering he's kept name guys around through negative events in the past. To immediately fire someone and take that strong a stance on it...that says something extreme. Like "meth yourself down a class" or something like that.

1. Still wondering about Marquardt, had to be something bad.
2. The one ref that wouldn't shut up needs to stop ref'n. He stood up Story/Brennemen when the one guy was in a submission position (partial back mount with a kimura locked in he just had to pop it out). In the same fight he almost stood them up during another submission attempt but the bell stopped it. You can not stand up a fight while in side control, full mount, back mount, or in the middle of a submission, that should be obvious, this is not freaking kick boxing/K1.
3. I hate Kongo, but man what a comeback, i was cheering as Barry was laying it on him and then had a "holy crap" moment when Kongo KO'd him.
