Hillsdale/loudonville should be a great game cant wait to see that.

I think smithville will bounce back this week vs fairless after playing 2 extremely tough opponents.

rittman.. I too cant believe how this team has regressed every year after having some success a few years ago. Coaching your own kid normally doesnt turn out good especially on a varsity level.

Norwayne/Hillsdale/Northwestern looks like they will all battle it out for the top spot. However i dont think norwayne will cruise through the league like last year with only being challenged in 2 games.

Norwayne still has a lot of work to do. They are getting everyone's best, and with that being said they will have to keep getting better every week. Today if norwayne played northwestern and or hillsdale they would lose. Brakes my heart to say that

Could happen. They said Manchester surely would and many thought Bucyrus would.
Loudonville is a good team this year and this will be a tough game.

Loudonville/Hillsdale matchup is interesting to me. Loudonville will line it up and come at you run after run. Hillsdale's first two oppenents have been spread/pass oriented teams, although Bucyrus ran alot out of the spread. Tough line play has been Hillsdale's strength the last few years, this year our skill positions seem to be ahead of our o-line. Loudonville doesn't appear to have weakness on either the O or D lines. Hillsdale will need to hit some passing plays to free up the run IMO. I expect a slobberknocker!

How many years has the Loudonville coach been there he seems to be doing a heckuva job down there. Wasn't he at Mount Union before?

Loudonville coach is in his first year!!. Hard to believe that Dalton Waynedale and Smithville are all 0-2. Ouch!

dalton contiues to improve from last year, but moral victories are just that. I have to give credit to coach doty here - i think the team looks very well coached. He made good defensive adjustments at half time as tuslaw's big qb was starting to get going running the football. In the second hal, they cleaned that up. The young secondary played well at times, but again had some breakdowns that led to the loss. The offense looked better this week, but the passing game was still not consistent enough. There is nothing more frustrating thatn losing due to extra points which was basically what happened. Tuslaw almost ha d a "serves you right moment" at the end of the game. Dalton had gone for it on their own 4 with a minute left as they were down 20-18 and didnt get it. Tuslaw had the ball first down with a minute left and the bulldogs with no timeouts - one or two knees and the game is over. Tuslaw ran three straight plays to try and score. On third down, they fumbled in the backfield, with the ball bouncing in the air. A tuslaw player picked it up and ran it in for a td, but ooh boy. ANyways, I hope they keep their heads up, because there is talent here - just a lot of youngsters. A solid timken teams comes to town next week.

. Exactly. Also, did anyone notice the most astonishing stat? Yes, Dalton was over 200 yards passing. I thought it was a misprint!

He is done for the year unless there is a deep run. Even if he comes back end of last 2 games, he has put zero pressure on the foot since surgery. Kids gave him the gameball from Crestview and he is still a huge emotional part of this team.

Honestly, that was easily the fastest, and probably most athletic, team Rittman will see this year, albeit also probably the least disciplined.
I am going to disagree with you here.......that is easily the worst offensive line that Rittman is ever going to face....they came to the line , put their hands on their knees and at the snap of the ball they got out of the way for #3 of the Knights......Now their backs were fast.....#3 got the game winning td all by himself ( with the help of 6 missed tackles by Rittman) he scored on sheer will and determination because no one blocked for him.

I did learn this, (I didnt know this rule) On a punt, when a player on the receiving team signals a fair catch, gets out of the way, and another player catches the ball and runs with it, it is considered unsportsmanlike penalty of 15 yards....The ref said when a player signals a fair catch whoever catches it cannot run....it doesnt matter that the player who caught the punt did not signal a fair catch........did you guys know this? Or was the reffing as screwed as the game itself?

I believe that is indeed the case. I could see teams trying to "use" fair catch as a form of chicanery in order to surprise their opponent. Hence, the rule is in place, and I believe that it is beneficial to the integrity of the game.

Rule 2-9 A valid fair-catch signal is the extending and lateral waving of one arm, at ful arm's length above the head, by any receiving player.

I don't love the rule, only because if the guy who actually catches the ball is looking up AT the ball, he very easily could miss a signal called by another player.
