Pennies can go.

Some say the dollar bill's future is limited too. Although it's wildly unpopular, it would save millions to go to dollar coins exclusively.

Round to the nearest .05¢. What would normally be $1.01 or $1.02 would be $1.00, and what was normally $1.03 or $1.04 would be $1.05. It would even itself out.

And that isn't a rational fear as other countries that have gotten rid of their one cent coins haven't seen prices rise.
