As far as Orrville's schedule....surprised, but then again I'm not surprised Copley dropped us. With us going down to division V, they need to be playing the small Div. I/ div II schools instead of a really good Div. V team.
I'd like to see Dover back on the schedule, but I'm affraid they are going to say the same thing....we don't want a Div. V school on our schedule that has the potential to beat us.
I look for good old Cleveland East to be added to the 1st week of the season like the old days.

redrider555-the fact that you said you love playing dover because of the band is a little scary to me...That would be down the list, well who am I kidding on reasons to play dover the band is not on the list.

I enjoyed playing Dover as well, but they had our number for the most part.
I would rather see Medina Highland again, or bring down a City Series school.

Rrfan, Lighten up, first all if you took the time and looked I was just agreeing with OQB, and just adding to his comments. Obviously I like playing Dover for the competition, other then the wrong side of the win column those were some great games, I was just making note of some of the other intangibles to playing Dover, in the future I will just stick to the facts so I don’t scare you.rrfan;1153811 wrote:redrider555-the fact that you said you love playing dover because of the band is a little scary to me...That would be down the list, well who am I kidding on reasons to play dover the band is not on the list.

Welcome to the dark side. Our Stutzman/Swartzentruber/Yoder enrollment numbers needed a lift.
Heard that Waynedale & Orrville wrestling programs will merge under the Orrville name.

I hear Coach Vrabel was in the school today. Must mean he has taken over NE Ohio which Jim Bohlman used to recruit. I think Vrabel will do a much better job. Nice to know little old OHS is on OSU's map. RTR.

Yes, I heard this as well. Credit to Coach Davault, I sure wish my head coach would have put even half the effort that Doug does as far as getting colleges in here to look at our kids. We had TONS of talent in the mid-late 90's and only a our kicker ends up at a BCS school...5knots;1157905 wrote:I hear Coach Vrabel was in the school today. This can't be repeated enough. Recruiting has changed a lot from even 10 years ago with the advent of the internet and how acccessible player highlight tapes are....but it's still the coaches that understand how the "game" works and use it to get their players looks from colleges.Old Rider;1158495 wrote:Yes, I heard this as well. Coach Davault has done a great job encouraging kids and their parents to put the work in to get highlight tapes out there and then he does the networking from there.
Seems pretty simple and obvious...but some coaches do it, and some don't.

Yes you did. Coach D certainly deserves much credit, but other things have changed as well. Internet sites like scouting Ohio get's your film out there immediately as does youtube and other subscription sites. In addition, once the ball is rolling.....just keep it rolling. Not too many communities our size can lay claim to 3 B1G LBs at the same time. Credit gets spread around there....Certainly coaches, certainly the community support, and certainly the kids themselves for putting in the time and effort, Kudos to all.

How about the camp Chad Hoobler has in the works for end of June here in Orrville. I think he has 5-10 NFL players committed to help run it. Heard names like Bobby Carpenter, Delone Carter, Brian Hartline, Roy Hall, and others. Pretty exciting for O-town. I think it will be a 3 day camp for 7-12 graders.

Just reality and anyone that played for him knows what I am talking about...but the internet has changed things for the better and it has made the coaches job a little easier. However, telephones have been around for a long time and I know coach Mac had one in his office.Red Rider Nation;1159150 wrote:Ouch someone pull Coach Mac out from underneath the bus!
