I could care less what branch of the serves you where in. What matters is what you&#8217;re made of, your grit and knowledge of the skills of combat and the man you have become. When on the field of battle you will not wavierin the conflicts of life you will achieve. Whether you are Army or Marine people will see you, your kids will see you, employer will see you and all around you will see as a American Soldier and how you are perceived via your action, prosperity and behavior will represent your respected and honor branch that you hold as your identity. </SPAN>

When you're a part of something that is bigger that what people can image from the outside, putting the time, dedication, intensity, tradition, pride and living the experiences with that branch and the others soldiers you have an inherited honor of that Military Branch. It&#8217;s to be expected and revered by the other branches. The standards are set high because the cost of one soldier greater </SPAN>

Sleeper, I understand you are just being an ass and like fab4 says you just say shit to piss people off, but you correlate being in the military to any other job.

But it isnt.

SUre, when you are in they treat it as a job, but there are very, very few jobs that you have to make a sacrifice like you do when you join the service. I think that if you would have had first hand experience being in the military then your opinion would change 180 degrees.

How many other jobs do they ship you overseas for 6-15 months at a time and in harms way? Are their turds in the military? Of course, just like their are turds in every single profession out there. There are uneducated people, and also very educated individuals serving.

It is OK though. You can think what you wish, no matter how skewed it is.

LOL

If I'm not afraid of bullets, I'm definitely not afraid of 2 disabled war vets. My uncle got in a car crash and has no legs. He was an accountant. Maybe he should have joined the military so he wasn't a casualty of doing his other job.

No, its the same. It's people like you that pretend its different. 20k+ a year, tax free, best benefits in the business, all for being a physically fit high school graduate. Sounds like a great deal to me, its too bad I have the brain capacity to make something of myself.

People try to skew everything like I'm being disrespectful to vets. I appreciate the job they do, just like I appreciate the guy who makes my coffee in the morning, or the firefighter down the street saving cats. I'm just speaking about reality, instead of being hoodwinked into pretending they are special.

They* pay federal and ss/medicare tax on their income.

In addition, only some States do not tax military income. Then again some States don't tax anyone's income.
