I think it's hilarious that on here and on bucknuts all thr people saying, don't recruit him, pull his offer... Why??? As a parent, tell me you wouldn't have freaked as well. I hope the kid does whatever is best for him. Only thing that would upset me would be if he decided to go to penn state, just because I think that's be pretty hypocritical.

Simply put, I just don't want OSU to have to deal with him.

He's flip flopping now. I'd rather just let him walk and be done with it. I've said it over and over, I want zero issues moving forward..

I want him to come to OSU so he can give his helicopter parent of a dad the big FU. His dad is a UF alum and didn't want him at OSU in the first place. This was just his excuse. I say keep recruiting him and see what happens. The insiders are saying it over all ready though.

Yes, without a doubt.

I don't buy the story at all. I think it was nothing more than an excuse for his parents to tell him that he wasn't going there.

My thoughts as well.

And would I freak as a parents? After the fact, no I wouldn't.

Oh I agree it was an excuse for his dad, BUT if you found out your son had taken pictures and apparently hung out with a convicted child molestor... It'd make all of us uneasy.

Why would you freak out at the school as a parent? If anything this is about the kid being more "careful" around "strangers," which is a lesson a parent should have successfully taught to them as a 4 year old.

The whole situation is blown way out of proportion. A random fan goes up to famous student athletes and takes a picture with them. That's not on the school, only person at fault is the student athlete for agreeing. And even then, I don't really think it's an issue. That's the life of a "celebrity." People will want to take pictures with you, get your signature or just talk for a minute. Some of them will definitely have ugly pasts. That's just a fact of life.

Again I don't think it's osu's fault at all. This can't be policed!
What I'm saying is, if I found out my son was in pictures with a child molestor I'd be super pissed as well. At the situation, not the school.

And the argument that AA could just beat him up is stupid. That'd have been 300 times worse... Imagine the story that'd have carried. Recruit beats convicted child molestor on osu campus during visit. espn would be running wild!!!!!!!

What is the point of getting pissed after the fact? That accomplishes nothing. It was a public place, the guy 'appears' harmless.

News flash. There are a lot of registered sex offenders out there.

Right but if the university comes out and says stay away from this guy an then your son has pics with him. That's creepy!

No one said anything about beating him up. I would just hope the kid could take care of himself. That may be the bigger issue here.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on this. If Meyer continues to recruit him and the offer is still out there, and Anzalone recommits, then so be it. I didn't like his dad's reaction, but I've got to think that a lot of parents would have responded like this initially.

huh? This is a joke right? Because he didn't "take care of himself" when an unbeknownst to him sex offender was creeping on him, he is somehow a pussy or a worse football player?

Who said any of this?

I agree. If this incident was enough to spook the kid into decommitting then let him walk. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

There is no spin. I am sure he can keep himself from getting raped by that guy without any issue.

If his parents think he is gonna get raped by that guy, there are bigger issues than where he wants to play football.

Taking care of himself = not getting raped.

No one ever, EVER, implied that he had to "beat the guy up" or that getting his picture taken with him was not taking care of himself, besides you and Midstate.

Also, no one ever implied that he is a bad football player because of this.
And no one implied that he may be a pussy besides his dad.

Exactly how i took it. If his dad worries about his 225 all american LB son going on a college visit, and him taking a pic with humpty dumpty. I hope for his sake he doesn't have a daughter and has never looked at pictures on facebook after a big weekend of parties at a major college.

I'm not trying to start shit, I just simply misunderstood what lj was thinking. I'm ok with that too.

Also there have been other people who have called Anzalone soft and have said they no longer want him after him being scared off by that guy so its not that far fetched.

Nice backpedal.

You can put me in with one of those people. If he TRULY was spooked by the pedo into decommitting then IMO he's soft.
