Most Recent Commitment:

Camren Williams

The latest commitment comes from Camren Williams, the 6’2” 215 pound linebacker from Massachusetts.
He combines excellent size, speed and quickness- which isn’t surprising if you’ve been following the players that Meyer has been targeting. Once again, this may be a different style of linebacker than Ohio State fans are used to, but these new LB’s can really excel in the right scheme.

. . .

On film (see below), you see Williams sift through traffic, fight off blocks, and explode through tackles to finish plays. He also shows the ability to drop in coverage and play in space.

The bottom line is that Cameron Williams (and David Perkins) provide tremendous versatility for the defense. It will be extremely exciting seeing what schemes Coach Fickell and Coach Withers can come up with to utilize their talent.

Although this commitment doesn’t come as a surprise, Camren Williams was unknown in most Buckeye recruiting circles until December 11th when he visited tOSU, seemingly out of the blue. Tell us if you’ve heard this story before: he was a PSU commit until everything broke there, allowing Urban Meyer and Ohio State to enter the picture.

Camren’s dad, Brent Williams, played in the NFL for the New England Patriots. His connection with New England allowed him to cross paths with Ohio State LB coach Mike Vrabel- which was obviously a plus.

As long as we finish with Davidson,Kozan,Stafford,Washington I will be happy anyone else is gravy. I think we will get all 4 btw.

I think they have an outside shot at Diamond because he knows he can come and play right away. We have good shots at Bradly and Odebingo. If they feel they need the DL depth and offer the Glenville DL guys, I think all they need to do is offer. IMO it is best to hold off becasue if there is a coach change there is no telling what stand out national recruits Urban or another high profile coach could pull in.

Do these two get a full four years or does this year count as a year for them?
Fork Union played at Ashland a few weeks back.

Hoping they finnish the class with Diamond Washington stanford Odenigbo Davidson and Kozan . That would be a great class considering everything. ALso the 2013 class looks likes its going to be a great one With a couple of early 5 stars claiming the Bucks as their early leader

Actually, it is both a prep and a post grad (5th year senior) school.

Yeah I've heard all they do is practice ACT/SAT questions/material for 4 hours a day then play football the rest. Not like a Juco where they go to actual classes.

I think OSU closes with:

1) Nick Davidson, OL
2) Alex Kozan, OL
3) Adolphus Washingington, DE
4) Dwayne Stanford, WR
5) Sevon Pittman, DE

That amounts to 19 commits. Depending on what happens in late November/early December (cough, Urban, cough), the final 2 or so spots should remain open. I don't think Odenigbo is a realistic shot. I think Diamond is more llikely. There is some talk that OSU is close to offering James Henry, an OT from Upper Arlington. Hopefully, the staff holds off until a coaching decision has been made.

Despite all the troubles, OSU will still maintain a top 20 class. Pretty impressive.

Pittman would be stellar. I think that is more people hoping than reality though. I haven't read anything that makes me think he would change his mind. I don't think he comes if Fickell is the coach.

OSU is still going after him very intently. He had some interesting quotes last week regarding his commitment to MSU. He continually used the phrase, "as of now." I think he is just waiting to see how the sanctions come down and who will be the head coach. Assuming it's Urban and the sanctions aren't serious, I think he comes to OSU. He was a virtual lock until everything went down. Certainly helps that Steve Miller is at OSU, too.

Hard to tell how this class will end especially if urban is the coach. You might see some kids commit out of nowhere and you could also see some kids decommit because they wouldn't fit Urban's system. Anyways it should be interesting come the end of signing day.

It will be interesting to see if the sanctions get announced in late November and they are as expected to see what happens. Any recruits playing the waiting game such as Pittman and Dunn will start to show their cards a little more.

Yes I know Dunn is committed but insiders are saying he is basically 50/50 right now between OSU/UM.

I think he looks 100/0 between OSU/UM ;)

Then wait a few weeks until he takes his official to UM is decked out their gear haha.

He needs to be treated like an uncommitted recruit right now that still needs to be convinced OSU is his home for the next four years.

I would say Dunn is all OSU. Remember, insiders are there to create site traffic. Dunn has repeatedly said on Twitter that he is all Buckeye!

Recruits were unpredictable when we had the most stable program in the country. Throw in the fact that we have possible NCAA sanctions looming, and a threat of coaching change. . . I figure the staff is treating most of the recruits like this (with the exception of Tyvis Powell, who appears to have the same unconditional love for OSU that I do-- http://buckeyehousecall.blogspot.com/p/tyvis-corner-at-buckeye-house-call.html ).

Not sure how familiar you are with Bill Greene but he is not a drive traffic type of guy. He gives it to you straight whether it is pro/con OSU, which in turns drives traffic because he's honest.

If Dunn were "all" Buckeye, he could have said as much after the Wisconsin game. Instead, he said he was "kind of" solid in his commit. I believe he is waiting on the sanctions but especially waiting to see who the coach will be. Buckeye insiders have said in the past that he doesn't see himself fitting into Urban's offense. I would actually expect a decommit should Urban be hired. But, it'd be worth it, imo.

Alex Kozan will be making an official for the game this weekend. Not expecting a commit, but wouldn't be surprised if he does.

Cardale Jones has really impressed me. The guy has the potential to be better than Pryor and Miller. He's got the size, the arm, the accuracy, and decent mobility. Really excited to see what he brings to the table.

Good thing is, he'll have at least 2 yrs in the system before he is called upon, so he should be ready to go.

Apparently Odebingo (sp) news of late is not in our favor...
