Urban needs to call up Dorial Green-Beckham. Can you imagine a recruit turning down Urban Meyer?

Also, with all these great recruits lining up, Ohio State will become the destination for multiple National Championships, which is enticing for recruits. Plus, the competition will only get stiffer so only those players who want to compete and win will come here, and the others will go to Notre Dame.

It's been great seeing OSU continuously climb the class rankings for 2012.

Don't know much about how the recruiting process works, but what's their updated rank since Urban went on this recruiting tear? What were they before he started?

My guess is Southward and the WR from Pickerington don't make it into this final class. Maybe one other because of grades.

I think we get Bam Bradley OLB, O'Conner OG, Dodson OT, Diamond OT, Athlete (Diggs Caleb or Neal), Another LB. 22-25 Total. Diggs is a long shot, but UFM has been doing work and it is a possibility.

I read the breakdown of how many schollies would be offered up why/how they got to that number on 11W I think, real thorough breakdown, and the number is like 4/5 more than it was at the beginning of the whole process.

From 11 Warriors:

Ohio State entered this season with 79 players on scholarship, which means that they were six scholarships under the NCAA limit of 85. Those six open spots, combined with the 14 departing seniors, means that there would be 20 "open" scholarships for this 2012 class. Nathan Williams will apply for, and likely receive, a medical redshirt from the NCAA, taking that number down to 19. Taylor Graham's transfer bumps it back to 20.

If you breakdown the roster a bit further, more spots open up without much wrangling. The smoke around rumors that Melvin Fellows will end up having his career finished due to injuries is almost impossible to see through it's so thick, and Scott McVey and Chad Hagan may end up in similar situations.Jamaal Berry's legal status is in limbo, and if he finds himself convicted of assault, it's very unlikely that he ever plays again for Ohio State. There are rumors that one current commitment is in danger of not making the grade, and he could find himself on the outside looking in if that's the case.

For the sake of arguing, I believe that Ohio State will sign 24 players come February 1st.

The Urbster is growing on me. Still not 100% in his camp yet but the SOB can recruit obviously. Hoke, Bielima and Dantonio must be shitting bricks.

This is great news. As we know, the most obvious difference between the top SEC schools and others, is their defensive front, especially on the ends. Meyer obviously knows this, thus his focus on getting these recruits.

Well, he sure sounded like he lacked a lot of confidence when asked how he felt about Urb being hired at Ohio State on the DP show..."well not....not good."

Just quoting it doesn't do it justice, you should have heard it. It was bad enough that the PR department called into the show within an hour to spin shit for him...fact.

Scout rankings = don't take five-star rankings seriously.

Noah Spence is a stud though.

You do understand that these recruits would all have been Buckeyes if Tressel was the coach, right? Call me when he pulls in Diggs or Neal.

I'm not taking anything away from Urban Meyer, he's the man. But, you guys are acting like little school girls and should be cognizant of that fact that Ohio State always gets their guys. This isn't something new.

I agree with your assement on rankings, but...

Spence would not have. Diamond (if we get him) would not have. Schutt would not have. Your argument there is invalid.

riiight....so you bought the spin, that's fine.

They play it as a goof on the show...a lot, so apparently they as well as everyone else who isn't a UM fan don't buy the spin either.

Rumor on a site that UM told Dunn he'd pull his offer if he visited Michigan. Good move.

Schutt absolutely would have. Follow his recruitment:

1) Called Brian Kelly to commit to Notre Dame, was told basically that he wasn't good enough to take over the guys they were chasing (i.e. he's not a five-star guy).
2) Michigan tells him "thanks, but no thanks."
3) Commits to Penn State, then the shitstorm happens in State College.
4) Falls right into Ohio State's lap. Would have happened with Tressel too, in my opinion.

Spence is debatable, but tell me with Penn State imploding criminally, who would have been the favorite?

Diamand would be a snag. No question.
