Yea, the WR and Secondary definitely had some weak moments, but you can tell we have talent. They're still young and learning the mental aspect of the game. The lack of depth on the OL and at LB is scary right now though.

There's a chance Epitropolous never plays receiver though.

Joel Caleb is visiting this week too. I'm thinking Urban will tell Frank Ep that he can keep his scholly but that he will be moved to punter or safety.

Regardless, if Cyrus Jones and Diggs want to come, you have to make room for them. There will definitely be some attrition.

Rumblings that Pittman and Dunn will be coming on a visit together.

Attacking his new job with vigor and passion is not something that should be a surprise to anyone that has followed Urban Meyer at all, but the new Ohio State head coach is sending shockwaves throughout the college football world.
With National Signing Day still two months out, college coaches in America, and especially the Midwest, have to be fearing the thought of Meyer calling their committed recruits. In only three days, Meyer has turned the heads of several of the top prospects in the country, including some currently committed.
As a coach at one of Ohio's top high schools anonymously stated today: "In talking to coaches around the state, all I can say is this. Urban Meyer is playing a different game than all of the other schools in the Midwest and Big Ten. His recruiting is so much more intense and thorough than anything any of us have ever seen before, even from Ohio State."
What is the latest buzz on Meyer and potential recruits?
Stark County Duo: Rumors are circulating that Michigan State commit Se'Von Pittman is doing far more than just considering a visit to Ohio State, and in fact he has made the decision to take an official to Columbus. It also appears current Buckeye commit Brionte Dunn will be on campus the same weekend as Pittman, a plus in the recruitment of both players. Dunn was starting to look like a certain de-commit, and was on the way to being a Wolverine for Brady Hoke, but Meyer placed one phone call to him and might have stemmed the Michigan tide. This duo visiting together is something to watch going forward.
East Coast Magic? Now assistant coach Luke Fickell spent Thursday on the East Coast, and it looks the Buckeyes have targeted three offfensive playmakers in that area of the country. Stefon Diggs, Joel Caleb and Cyrus Jones are all in play for the Buckeyes, with Caleb taking an official this week to Ohio State. Diggs is a new name on the radar, and he expressed interest in Ohio State early in his junior year, but his recruitment never took off with the Buckeyes. Landing one of these three playmakers would be considered a boon to Ohio State's 2012 recruiting class.
Four Sunshine State Stars: Assistant coach Stan Drayton was in Florida Thursday and he has spoken with four high-profile players in the South Florida area. Keith Brown, Duke Johnson, Deon Bush and A.J. Leggett were all contacted by Ohio State, and of the four, Brown and Leggett could be the two most in play. The key here, as always, is the official visit. Putting a recruit with Meyer for 48 hours seems like a sure-fire recipe for a commitment, so any official visit would be huge.
Ohio Tackle Interested? It's no secret Meyer is not pleased with the offensive line situation at Ohio State, specifically the tackle position, and he has made that a priority for the 2012 class. The latest to be contacted? Current Notre Dame commit Taylor Decker, who until Thursday had not returned calls or spoken to any other staff. He has spoken to Meyer, and once again the key is the official visit. In a daring strategic move, Meyer told Decker there is no scholarship offer unless he visits. Stay tuned on the Vandalia-Butler big man.
This weekend will feature the six state championship football games in Ohio, held in both Canton and Massillon. While the presence of the Ohio State staff always causes a stir, Meyer's rock-star status in the state will create an unbelievable buzz if he shows up in person.

I read an article on Rivals that mentioned Gunner Kiel and Ohio State in the same breath. Had a couple opportunities to watch this kid play and I think he'd be a decent, but not great, fit in Meyer's offense. He's committed to Indiana right now, but has opened his recruitment back-up supposedly. With the limited number of schollys, and more pressing needs, there's no way Kiel is a Buckeye, is there? I know he's interested in Michigan, if anything it'd be nice to keep him away from Chubby up north. I sincerely doubt there's anything to it, just found it interesting is all.

Kiel is no longer committed to Indiana. He isn't interested in Michigan. He visited LSU and Vandy unofficially last week, LSU officially Tuesday of this week, and is supposed to take an official to Vandy this weekend if he can get some school work done. He will also visit Notre Dame next weekend. There hasn't been anything about OSU from he or his family, as they have been pretty quiet throughout all of his recruitment.

I don't think keil would be a good fit. I think Meyer will always be looking for the freak athlete at qb. But he did recruit Brantley right?? But I think keil ends up at nd.

He'll most likely end up at ND. I haven't heard any talk about OSU with Kiel, and as others said, probably not the best fit for Meyer.

ND? With the way Kelly screws with this QB's..I am not sure why a top flight QB would want to got there.

QBs aren't exactly killing it at ND right now. Would be a good place for him. But he's from Indiana, so he grew up close to ND. It was pretty much down to ND and Indiana when he committed to Indiana.

From what I read, LSU seems to be be leading the way. I believe he has made a couple trips down there.

Any of these schools would be better than Indiana.

I'm thinking between 20-22.
Gotta believe Nathan Williams will receive a medical redshirt... right?

Quick question, does anything change with a scholarship when an athlete goes for undergrad to grad student?

He isn't a freak athlete like Miller, but he is a lot more athletic than Brantley. He ran the zone read offense that Tebow ran and that Kelly wants to run but can't with Rees.

LSU is not leading the way. He made unofficial to LSU and vandy last week like I already posted here then went back for official to lsu this week. Will try to get to vandy this weekend for official. Will be at ND for his official next weekend. He's also been there three or so times since decommitting from Indiana.

lotz, I haven't seen a lot of Kiel, but I have seen plenty of Hendrix...which of these two better fit BK's style of offense? I assume it would be Hendrix, but is Kiel athletic enough to adapt to Kelly's scheme?
