Tuberville would be a great hire, and UC should do whatever they can to get him

Well they have to interview a black coach or Al Sharpton will be protesting at UC. I don't think this guy is a serious candidate though.

ESPN Insider doesn't think Tuberville would take the job but seems to think Phillip Fulmer would. At 59 he has a career record of 152-52 with only 2 losing seasons at Tennessee.

Why wouldn't he be a serious candidate? He is from Indy and played at Purdue. He also runs a passing game that is very similar to what UC ran under Kelly. He has done a very good job at houston, both on the field and off. He is a rising star in the coaching fraternity and will land a good job in time.

Thats because he had yet to address the team.

Maybe... just seemed kind of odd. Was this awards show taped earlier or something?

No, he had a live feed with ESPN during the banquet. He didn't address the team until the banquet concluded even though every player knew it.

Thank god Coombs isn't coaching them in the Sugar Bowl...he's not ready to be a head coach on that level.

Both staffs are being shaken up for the Sugar Bowl. A couple more besides Strong are leaving UF. 2 replacements already lined up by Meyer.

Kevin Sumlin and Al Golden will interview for the job. The supposed top three are Butch Jones, Sumlin and Skip Holtz. I think Sumlin would be another fantastic hire if he were to get the job. He is at the top of my list right now, I just don't know if he is at the top of Mike Thomas's

Sumlin would be a great hire. Imagine what he could do with the Offensive weapons he'll have at UC

Rivals.com has a report up saying that Cincinnati has asked to speak with Sumlin.

Skip Holtz would be nice, but I don't know how his soul would deal with recruiting Ohio against his beloved Notre Dame. He has a nice thing going in the ever-fertile south, I'm not sure he's itching to make a move. However, I'm positive he was waiting for Weis to get fired and that's why he didn't tale the Syracuse job last year. Maybe, now that it looks like he'll have to wait another 3+ years for the Notre Dame job to open, he will go ahead and move up the ladder.

Personally, I think it would be a wise move by the Big East to add East Carolina to the conference. It would allow the Big East to get a foothold in the Carolinas, which are booming right now. It will only become more fertile in terms of recruits moving forward into the future.

This guy says that Skip Holtz turned down Cincinnati.

And that Kevin Sumlin and Butch Jones are still very much in the running.

Hopefully Cincinnati can get an honest coach who won’t bail on them when the first mid-major type teams come calling with an offer of more money but with very little overall talent.

It will be Sumlin or Jones barring some really weird things happening in the next few days. Thomas wants the new coach to be announced by the middle of next week.

Haven't really paid attention but will the new coach be coaching in the Sugar Bowl or will an assistant take over?
