Tommy Tubberville(sp?) is already being mentioned to replace Kelly at UC

If only Charlie Strong had waited a little bit longer.

The Chicago Tribune reported this week that Kelly would not coach the Bearcats in the Sugar Bowl if hired by Notre Dame, and that associate head coach/defensive backs coach Kerry Coombs would be his likely replacement.

I still think more teams should do what Cincy did when they hired Kelly and let the new guy coach the Bowl game

Coombs will likely coach the Sugar Bowl. I woudl expect the following guys to be in the mix:

Butch Jones
Kevin Sumlin
Tubberville
Jeff Quinn (UC's offensive co-ordinator)

September63, I did hear something about coach saccoccia is going to coach at St. Mary's school for the blind. And they have Dover scheduled for all 10 games because Reno knows he can beat Dover with 22 blind kids every time they play.

My top three would be Butch Jones, Kevin Sumlin, and Tommy Tubberville. I expect Coombs to stay on the staff, but he is not ready to be the head coach at UC.

Butch Jones and Sumlin would be good for the continuity of the offense however I think Tubberville would be a guy who sticks at Cincy. He's been in the SEC, knows what big time football is like. I think he would appreciate building a program rather than leave for the next big job like Sumlin and Butch Jones who are still up and coming coaches.

Butch Davis wouldn't leave UNC for Cinci. His facilities are too good there. That is too much of a lateral move.

Agreed, they need a coach who has been there, done that, if they want him to stick

Note to UC: Please do not pull a WVU and hire your head coach after an emotional win

Exactly what me and my roommate were saying. Bill Stewart makes me laugh sometimes.

UC AD Mike Thomas has announced offensive coordinator Jeff Quinn to coach team in Sugar Bowl, not Kerry Coombs.

Quinn coached CMU in the Motor City Bowl after Kelly departed to come to UC. After the game he followed Kelly to the Bearcats. I expect much of the same this time around.

Funny for everyone else, embarrassing for us. I don't know how one man can coach when his eyes are squinted the whole game.
