come on man...didnt they kick an onside kick late? if i was mooney i wouldnt run it up if i could, id take the high road and show why mooney actually has some class and ursuline is slowly turning into an inner city school with no identity. ask some of the alum from ursuline what they think about the state of their school? theyre disgusted.

Ursuline kicked squibs and onsides nearly every game of last year because they did not have a kicker to kick deep. This year Ursuline opts for pooch kicks cause they can't kick deep.

You are full of yourself if you think the alum's of Ursuline are upset with the state of their school. The state of Ursuline is just fine. Considering I graduated in just 2008 I think I would know the state of my school. The academics of Ursuline remain far better than every public school district in the area. Ursuline offers the most AP courses of any school in the area. They had five National Merit finalists in this upcoming graduating class. Their previous graduating class had a 99% graduating rate, which has been the norm for the past decade and probably further back.

Just because we are receiving inner-city students via school vouchers doesn't mean the academic performance of Ursuline has suffered. The one's that are trouble get their one chance and are removed prior to their Sophomore year. The one's that learn the strict academic and discipline standards may struggle at first, but by the time they graduate, they are well prepared for college. Best example of that would be Akise Teague that finished with a 3.2 GPA upon graduating.

Don't go spewing pure nonsense to bash my school. It is a great school and I maintain far superior than any public school in the Mahoning Valley. It prepared me quite well for college and I have heard numerous remarks from my college professors about how much better prepared I am for courses in English and Writing.

The rotten taste of last year is still fresh on the south side of Youngstown. PJ is too much of gentleman to run the score up but believe me when I say the team would like nothing better to hang 60-70 on the Irish. If the flood gates open like they did last week against St.V it could get ugly early for Ursuline.

I take it you think Zanesville or SVSM are going to lose one of their games?

I have Zanesville winning out and SVSM losing out, and I'm being kind to Zanesville as Cambridge will give them fits. SVSM/Buchtel is a tough game to predict. That's why I stated earlier that it could come down to a "beaten opponents" war between Ursuline and Southern for the 8th spot. If SVSM does beat Buchtel and Zanesville wins out and Southern gets one less secondary win than what I'm currently giving them credit for then Ursuline can overtake them. Still, there would need to be a loss by a team ahead for either to make it.

I lost a lot of respect for Coach Reardon in the 2009 State Final when he was running up the score late in the game instead of putting in some seniors to get some PT in their last game ever. The rest of the respect was lost last year in the Mooney-Ursuline game.

Oh and while we're relaying personal anecdotes and pretending that those = 100% of opinions everywhere ever: I was sitting with several uncles and cousins who are Ursuline alumni during that 2009 state title game and they were disgusted too.

First of all, St V put up all those gawdy numbers against some pretty bad defenses, prior to Mooney. Secondly, Ursuline has way more speed than St V can ever dream about this year. Third, Ursuline put up some pretty good offensive numbers against Red Lion, Mentor and St Edward, to mention a few.

This will be a very close game, but I think Mooney's discipline will be the difference 21-13.

I get a kick out of the fact that Mooney fans are upset we blew them out in the 2nd half last year. It is okay if Mooney destroys Ursuline, but God forbid that once in the 56 or so times we have played that Ursuline wins won going away 44-7.

Reardon's had every right to beat up the Cards in the 2nd half because the events the day before in the freshmen game angered the entire Irish team and it was the players that wanted to get that W for our freshmen.

No dog in this fight, I expect a great game as is almost always the case, but I think last year's blowout was compounded by some of the hits Teague was laying using his helmet first. The guys on TV were saying the same thing, especially the one on the defenseless player (D End I think). I'd never seen someone do that 3 times in a row like that and literally knock people out of a game. He was a great RB and there was no need for that type of play. In my opinion. You can disagree all you want and that's fine. I know the announcers agreed with me. Then came the Ursuline onslaught and 37 point dismantling. It'll be interesting to see how this game plays out. Like I said though, I guess I'm rooting for Mooney to win, I like them better than Ursuline, but either way doesn't matter to me.

Let me do a little "find and replace" with that statement so you realize what you're saying.

Reardon's had every right to embarrass a bunch of 16, 17, and 18 year old kids in the 2nd half because the events the day before in a game involving a bunch of 14 year old children angered the entire Irish team and it was the players that wanted to do something completely unnecessary that serves no purpose but to further embarrass your opponent for our freshmen.

If PJ ran it up on Ursuline I would love to see the UHS supporters squirm and complain, but I would be ashamed that my team did something so classless. Apparently you're not only ok with it, you're defending it like any person in his right mind would have done the same thing. It makes you look bad and reflects poorly on Coach Reardon.

Once again Mooney has owned the rivalry 38-17 or something like that. Many of which were blowouts. Most of Ursuline's wins were by a score or less. God forbid we win one 44-7. Just remember it was 7-6 Mooney at half and we had every right to put up five scores in the second half.

In games like that, Mooney puts in the second and third teams. I have no problem with letting the second and third teams run your offense and score points. That has never been something that bothered me. But to NOT ONLY LEAVE THE STARTERS IN, BUT ALSO KICK AN ONSIDE KICK up by that much is as classless as it gets.

You guys kill me. You say Mooney ran up the score in the freshman game so it gave you the right to do it at the varsity level? I was at the game Mooney had the second team in in the second quater. Maybe they should've taken a knee three times and punted the rest of the game? If UHS would've put in the jv's not onside kicked and not thrown up 30 this wouldn't be an issue. That game just prooved to everybody what a classless jerk Reardon really is.

I was at the Hubbard game. My nephew played for the Eagles. Mooney was winning 49-0 in the 2nd quarter and played their reserves the entire second half and only added 6 points. Just for your information.

And now people see why for one week out of the year Ursuline and Mooney despise each other. The other 51 weeks we are defending Catholic schools from the likes of Skank and RedRiderBBGun lol...
