Someone should do a study on the effect of unexpectedly closed donut shops on the frequency and severity of police misconduct. The correlation is likely incredible.

I may have found a senior thesis!

I don't think provocation has anything to do with it though because just because I call an officer a bad name or something doesn't make it legal or right for him to beat/taze/etc me. Likewise every time one of those things is done by an officer doesn't mean it was done maliciously or illegally. People get too caught up in taking either the cops side or the other side every time rather than actually thinking about the situation.
Sure, mistakes happen. By and large, the protestors are trying to instigate as much as possible to make more news and spread awareness. Provoking cops with taunts is a great way to force a cop into a tough situation. I don't think cops are out there looking to taze someone, there's always a reason.

How does taunting a cop force him into a tough situation? Nothing is tough about ignoring someone.

Cops are people. They will break eventually. That is why the protestors call them names. I don't have a problem with a cop tazing someone who is being overwhelming disrespectful to a policeman in uniform.

Taunting a cop, in the above location on the docks, has the ability to further raise the hysteria of others in a crowd creating a potentially dangerous situation. The Officer has to decide to let the taunting play out or stop it from escalating the potential dangers of a crown already on emotional edge.

Everyone has their breaking point. I can guarantee with certainty that if we were face to face, and you couldn't walk away (like cops can't), I could get you to assault me.

Cops in riot gear should just stand there and take it even when bottles are thrown at them.

She has a future in liberal media constantly referring to "chemical weapons".

So tear gas and rubber bullets is not a justified response? Next time just take out the knight sticks and start cracking skulls!

Instead, they should arrest them for battery. If they resist, then force used. Pick your poison bitch.

What kind of farking retard taunts a cop and then cries when the cop lowers the boom? This kind of stupidity is exactly why the Bolsheviks will accomplish little with their "movement."

So then I'd be allowed to taze a cop who was overwhelmingly disrespectful to me?

Cops aren't above the law. They cannot legally assault people for insulting them.

Taunting is not illegal. Beating/tazing/otherwise assaulting citizens for nothing (taunting counts as nothing as it is not illegal) is illegal. That's why you can complain.

No you cannot. It's part of the cops job to control the crowd from getting out of hand. They are taunting the cops for a reason, and I think they deserve what they are getting if they choose to do it excessively.

So you don't think cops have to obey the law. Okay.

So I guess you are against ambulances and fire trucks running red lights in a time of emergency. They are not above the law. Gotcha.

No, the law allows them to do those things. The law does not permit police to assault civilians because they insulted or taunted them though.

The federal government has militarized our police departments and our dictator already assassinates citizens without a conviction or trial or even charges. We should just take our police state and like it. Obviously it's what we wanted if we elected these clowns.
