I'll stand by my statement. I consider myself well versed in Pink Floyd listening. I started out listening to them on cassette tapes in my boom box during the early 1980's. Although the kids at school said it was cool to listen only to heavy metal (i.e. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, etc), I preferred a more eclectic mix - with Pink Floyd right in the middle of it. At the time I thought the Beatles sucked because my music teacher and my parents listened to them. High school saw me into a heavy Led Zeppelin love affair. But Pink FLoyd was also there. Once in college, I started listening to a broader range of music. Zeppelin and Floyd were still there, but usually only being blasted after an all day drinking bout. Post college saw the Floyd and Zep die away. I still appreciate that music for the time in my life it represented, but I haven't actively sought out a song from either band for 20 years. I think it all starts to sound the sam.
The Beatles on the other hand bring a diverse sound that is always pleasing to the ear.
So there are the "facts" that back things up. You call me a clown, and that's fine. Some of my teachers used to say I was a clown and my wife thinks I act like a clown too.
