Are any of you "conspiracy theorists?" I'm not talking about JFK, 9/11, etc. I'm talking about your everyday type stuff. When it comes to big things like I mentioned (JFK, 9/11, man on moon, etc.) I am not a conspiracy theorist. But when little things happen, I'm always skeptical and quite cynical, that they happened for a reason.

Example: On Monday, my cable went out. I was the only person who reported cable being out in my (small) town. I reported it, they said they could not be there until Wednesday. I get home at 3:30, not fixed. I call them at 3:45, they say that no one has been there yet, and someone will call before they come (appt is 1:00-5:00 time range). I leave and come home at about 4:30, cable is now fixed. I call them back b/c I want to know what was wrong, and they said no one was reportedly there yet.

In little situations like this, I become a conspiracy theorists. Many thoughts cross my mind like, "the cable company is fucking with me," or "the govt. is putting a tap on my cable/phone/internet," etc. While I know that these are highly unlikely, I always think the worst. Whenever I see a cop, I think, "Oh shit, they're here to get me," even though I've done nothing wrong. It's gay, I know. But just curious if anyone else ever thinks like that.

i know TWC has fixed stuff for me while talking to them on the phone. guess it depends on what the problem is.

They could not connect to my cable box, and I had no cuts in my outside cable box. It was either in the box on the side of my house, or it was on the telephone pole. The lady on the phone even said, "These things don't just fix themselves."

Edit: Just got off the phone with them and they said, "It was a disconnect in error." Someone else on the block had a disconnect scheduled, and they disconnected me by accident. See, I just don't buy that story, and I don't know why. Probably 100% true, but I just feel that something is up. Gay.

Maybe one of your neighbors, who doesn't pay his bill, uses your address on his account. He could have it set up for online billing, where even though he never pays, you'll never get anything in the mail. So instead of disconnecting him, they disconnected you. He probably has your credit card number too. And bangs your wife.

Worked a cable place for a bit a few years ago.

An old guy called in on monday morning saying his cable was out all weekend and he was irate.

Tech gets there and turns the TV on. All static. He tries to use the remote to change the channel and nothing would happen. So he went up to the TV and pressed the channel up/down button and it went to a correct channel and started working.

The old guy had it on like video 1 output or something like that, and the batteries in the remote were dead so when he pressed the channels it didnt work.

Senility at its finest.

So....ernest.....you sure you were working the tv correctly?
