I don't think Rice University is being considered in the conference swapping.

Hope this helps.

Texas really wants the Big 12 to stick with 10 teams. Fewer teams to divide TV revenues with. We'll see how much power they really have. I don't personally see it happening. Too risky.

Big East says Notre Dame is as committed as any member to moving forward with the conference and excited about 12-team fb model

But the other members of the B12 really want 12 teams, including Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. They believe the additional members would provide security in the event Texas goes Indy or to the PAC12 down the line.

I know Texas has stirred the drink in the past, but I think after the past few seasons the rest of the league is tired of their shyte.

USF is a huge school. Big school = lots of alumni = big bucks

UConn only has basketball.

RU has nothing.

Big East, MWC, and C-USA heads are scheduled to meet: http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7148713/big-east-meet-conference-usa-mountain-west
The three conferences are considering the possibility of creating a nationwide football superconference of 28 to 32 teams, with the goal of gaining an automatic Bowl Championship Series qualifying bid, according to multiple reports.

I like the effort, but who the fuck is buying this logic that if you are a team who hasn't been considered AQ worthy, you just need to find 700 other teams that also haven't been considered AQ worthy and suddenly all 701 of you are AQ worthy?

God bless America...these clowns are whacked.

That said though, you can't blame them for giving it the ole college try, but the fact remains they won't be eating a piece of this pie no matter how hard they try. The 16 team format proposed by Mountain westers...too many. I guess hoping against hope one of them would miraculously slip in. I get it but give me a break.
