He's lost 4 games a year, every year he's been a head coach. His gameplan against Wisky was terrible, and his defense isn't good. He's shown me nothing to make me think he'd be a great coach. Also, unlike Fickell, he's had several years to prove himself, and hasn't.

The Big 10 does not have a "no hiring from within" rule. In fact no conference does, although there has been a gentlemen's agreement in the larger BCS conferences over the years. Dantonio has privately told folks close to him he is interested and Gene Smith knows this. How secure are Badger fans in keeping Bielema? OSU a much higher profile job than Wisky.

Pelini? A top 10 team?

Nebraska spent most of the last decade unranked. I don't think they've finished in the top 10 once.

They have not finished in the top 10. But they were ranked only once between Solich (fired in 2003) and Pellini who was hired in 2008. They finished 2008 unranked, in 2009 they were ranked 14th and in 2010 they finished ranked 20th. He did start bringing them back from obscurity.

I'm not so certain the OSU job is as great as some think. They don't pay their assistants as much as other schools. Is it top 15? Absolutely. But I'm not sure if a guy like Stoops jumps at a chance to coach OSU, or Peterson for that matter.

What jobs would you rank ahead of OSU?

OSU hasn't had an assistant in the previous few years worth $750k-$1mill

Just for 2010, Peterson could almost double his salary, and if you think Bollman is a good example of OSU's highest paid assistant (ugh) his top paid guy could get a $100,000 raise.

Are you really suggesting that Boise State is a better job than Ohio State? OSU is easily one of the top jobs in the country. I've heard people mention that the reason OU gave Stoops an extension was because of fear that he would leave for OSU

I definitely think it is a better job than Boise. Higher budget, more exposure, better recruiting base, better facilities, bigger support staff, more tradition.

Pelini and Stoops won't leave their schools, OSU is on par with them, defintiely wouldn't call it "better".

Really? Look at Coach Pay. Only two schools in the country spent more on coach's salaries and benefits in 2008.

In 2010, OSU's top paid assistant made just a little more than 1/3 of the country's highest paid assistant. 3 current B1G schools have a higher paid assistant than OSU (Illinois (2) Nebraska (2) Wisky (1)) and ALL the big boys have higher paid assistants.

I absolutely think OSU is a better job than Boise. But you have to consider expectations as well. I personally think Stanford is one of the best jobs in the country (amazing location, low expectations and you can recruit nationwide). As for the top jobs, it's a matter of opinion, but I would put the following near the top:
Florida
Florida State
USC
Texas
Notre Dame
Oregon
Oklahoma State
Stanford
OSU
Michigan
Alabama
Georgia
LSU
Penn State

Isn't Pelini something like 1-9 vs. ranked teams?

What? There is maybe 2 jobs better than OSU and that would be Texas and Notre Dame. Texas is the only program to bring in moe money than Ohio State over the last 5 years. Ohio State has one of the biggest fanbases and one of the best recruiting areas in the country with virtually no one to compete with. OSU has locked up Ohio.

OSU is, in fact, one of the top 5 jobs in the US. I don't think there is ANY question about this. When you look at the recruiting base, facilities, tradition, money within the program, national exposure etc, etc...they are easily top 5. Not even an arguement. Even the haters would agree with this.

Speaking of Common Man and the Torg, apparently there was some twitter beef between them and Terrelle Pryor today. Does anyone know what was said?
